Hi Mark, Congratulations on the 29-2. I bought one in the spring of 2012 in New Jersey for $13,500. I delivered it myself with 2 sailing buddies throughout new York City, Hudson River, Erie Canal, Oswego Canal, across Lake Ontario to Pickering Ontario. We did the trip of 525 miles in 7 days. This was a fantastic experience and I would recommend bringing your boat home by water. Since we were going to be motoring with the mast down through the canals, I got the diesel mechanic at the marina to go over the engine from top to bottom. Engine oil change, transmission oil change, new drive belts, 2 new impellers (not sure if yours has the closed cooling system or not), pumped the diesel tank and cleaned it, 2 new diesel filters (primary and secondary), new antifreeze, adjusted and tested everything. This was $900 well spent as the Yanmar performed flawlessly during the delivery. Make sure that you have spare diesel filters and know how to change them. There are a few tricks if bringing the boat back to Canada by water. If you have a Canadian license number and stick it on the bow before departing, you can avoid paying US State sales tax. I think I sent you an article that I wrote about bringing a boat into Canada by water a few months ago. If you lost this, I can resend it to your off list email. Your boat is equipped with a keel shoe that is not standard. Not sure why you would want this. The boat is stiff enough without the shoe (at least on Lake Ontario)
