Hi there,
sorry to bother you but I am new to ClamAV (on fedora core 6). I ran
clamscan on my laptop and got a message telling me that I have 3 files
infected.
One is in my mail . I browed the FAQ and find a way supposed (by using
the --debug option) to tell the number of the infected message
ks about the same as the size
of the zip archive. Could it be a false positive ?
Thank you again

As a hint : it is a zipped file with a size that is about the sum of its
unzipped content. Maybe not that much interesting.
Thank you for the help and t

Another solution would be that a fedora user tells how(where) to get the
rpm of mbox2mdir and mdir2mbox.
Thank you.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding... but this seems to be the long way around the
barn.
Are you unable to simply delete the message from within Thunder
, but I switched to Claws-mail with spamassassin and clamav
and it's being great !

any light would be appreciated.
I thought also that clamav dropped the privileges to user when run as
root.

Hello,
I run a dual boot fedora 9 and windows XP. After having worked with windows
apps, I usually run a clamscan from my linux environment. The last time I did

I am using clamd + amavis-new. Good results so far.

ht want to get the Gnu MP library first and do
./configure
make
make check
make install
This way clamav/freshclam knows about digital signatures. See the FAQ entry!

Check if whitelisting found using clamd and clamscan
In both cases virus is still FOUND, not whitelisted
Any idea what's wrong in my thinking or something I'm missing?

I just wonder if all other excluded filesystems are scanned or not, anyway no

So reversing the logic seems to be the best way forward but then again it would
be nice if it worked as stated!
