Hi list, If I understand correctly new virus-signatures are sent to this list. If that is the case I see no more need to trigger freshclam - to download the new signatures. Just add the signatures in the e-mail to your current database. That way you don't need to transfer the 1+ MB file every tim

Hi! Good points, but I assume that posting to the list is only allowed from approved addresses, we dont want just anybody to be able to update the database. Hammering the servers with requests shouldn't be a problem, then we just have to implement a feature so freshclam uses the servers in ram

I think the idea of virusdb list is great. I really do but I was wondering about a couple of points: 1. Supposing that a significant part of clamav users subscribe to the virusdb list, won't the update servers be overflowed with lots of update requests all arriving in a small period of time? Ea
