I'd like to point out that the usage of settrans is introduced very
early in the install process of Hurd (especially to get the network up),
and this is only given as a recipe (on the wiki for instance) without
explanation of what it actually does.
In this situation, a new user's first reflex
hadn't been created during the installation. After creating
manually, everything worked OK.
From a bit of discussion with on the #hurd IRC, the problem might be
from the base-files package.
Is this a known bug or should I submit a new bug report?

Hi,
I would rather write "l'ordinateur mange les pissenlis par la racine",
because the idiom refers to being dead rather than the act of dying (is
that really an action anyway?).
I prefer "l'ordinateur a cassé sa pipe", it's short and informative.

Funny, in fact it also makes a slight pun on "pipe", since pipes are used
extensively in unix-like OS :-)
