Hi everyone!
In my Bacula installation (v7.4.4, Debian), I have a certain Full backup
job that is configured to go to a pool of tapes. One run of this backup
job currently spans abot 2.5 tapes. In order to make handling of the
tapes a bit more easier (I'm taking them to an off-site storage and wil
A volume goes from state Append to state Full when an attempt to write more

In both cases, Bacula will not attempt to write more data to it.

Hi there!
Does anyone know the difference between these two status for a volume, Used and
Full ?
Can you write data on a tape "Used" ?
Thank you!

Hi,
There is a very good explanation about automatic volume recycling here:

Hi ,
While testing Recycling configuration for volumes. I am facing a issue.
My volumes are in Full status even after expiration of Volume
Retention period.
I have used "Volume Retention = 3 hours" in pools
"Job Retention = 4 months" and "File Retention = 4 months" in client
but 6 hours af

No that is not too much as long as it completes in less than a day. I
have done 2TB in a single backup to LTO2 tapes that completed in 12 to
15 hours.

Hi all,
I have a problem with Bacula 2.2.5 on a Debian Etch.
Every Friday I make a Full Backup and from Monday to Thursday a made an
Incremental Backup to the harddisk. Every day Bacula have to execute 11
Jobs, one for every server.
Espacially one job on Friday (Full) has always the problem, tha

Hi folks,
Yesterday around noon, I unmounted a volume from our tape-loader and forgot
to mount another volume. Anyhow, when the nightly backups kicked in 9:00PM,
all the jobs started but I never got an email alert from Bacula asking for a
manual mount of a volume. This morning, noticing the first

Hi there,

Status.

Hello there,
(on the bconsole) by doing: update -
Volume parameters - (choosing pool and entering media id), then choosing
Volume Status you can get to:
Possible Values are:
1: Append
2: Archive
3: Disabled
4: Full
5: Used
6: Cleaning
7: Read-Only
Question is:
Hello!
Is there a script or utility I can use to verify
the backup on the tape?
Does bacula support hardware compression? How well does it work
generally?
Generally its safe to use your
database frontend to manage some tape values. And its really faster to
change a hign number of rec

If I can recover files from the first volume, does it mean the volume
and backup are ok?

Hi,
Just started using Bacula and completed backup to the first volume. Now
backup moved to second volume. However, the volume status for the first
volume shows error. Also the size of data put on the volume seems larger
than the spec (176G vs 160G).
