I think you should use /dev/random, not /dev/zero unless hardware
compression is disabled in order to have more realistic figures.

I had the same problem. I solved it
installing mysql-4.1.20-1.RHEL4.1 (from upgrade 4 of RHEL4).
There are other packages related, so
best solution would be a complete update of the system.

20 Gb is a small amount of data. I would
suggest to use rsync to get a local copy of data (using compression, and

Hello,
I had a look to the "make_mysql_tables" and I saw that there should be an
index (JobId,FilenameId,PathId) in the File table, but mine did not had it
(I do not know why, recently I made a new DB and fillen it with a backup).
Also there is a suggestion about doing more indexes in order to
dex to the file table. The drowback in
this case should be the database updating during the backup.
I would like to know if these aspects have been already taken into account
and if they led to some guidelines.

can someone tell me how to cleanup the client job list? I mean the list of
jobs coming with the console command:

Even if I delete a job in the database these jobs continue appearing. I
thought it is a log on the client, but I was not able to find out where it
is.
