Hello,
I'm currently using the 1.0.10 ALSA driver with a 2.6.15 kernel to

Is the MIDI port working under a different Operating System? If not,

Hello,
I have an audigy 2, just setup with this, first time I have noticed this

Hi!
On some mixers if only left channel is plugged signal will be fed to both
channels. Try to plub something to input 2 too and listen if input 1 is
still fed to both channels.

You have to install kernel-headers-2.6.8-2-386 . The kernel image
doesn't have header files, so you can't compile any module against it.
I recommend you to use modules-assistant, which is a debian utility
suited to compile and install additional kernel mode easily.

I have a problem with the amixer tool.
For a given mixer, I was used to being able to set both

one shows up as a "stereo" input even if it is truly just mono on L&R,
while the other shows as "mono".
Any tips on panning?
Also, as an added bonus I no

It's very likely that each volume controller of the card in your PC is for
a single (mono) channel, where the controllers in your laptop manage
two channels at once (stereo).
Try running alsamixer, and then move to some various volume sliders
and press "q" a few times, and then "z" a few times. y
