Hello All,
I am using ALSA 0.9.0rc7 on a Via82c686B on board
audio controller.
The drivers load properly, but no sound plays. A look at
'dmesg' shows several:
'AC97 codec not ready'
errors. I looked on board and it is using a Sigmatel STAC9752
codec.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks

The msi motherboard has onboard realtek ALC650 (AC'97). I downloaded the
alsa driver from realtek's site, modifed my modules.conf..and now analog
works perfectly.

rec | play
or
arec | aplay
or similar.
