Takashi and TiMidity++ crew,
I really appreciate your work on making TiMidity++-2.12.0-pre1b
compatible with Jack! Of course, a lot of little problems still exist
with the change to a newer transport mechanism, but I'm absolutely
beside myself with glee! :)

Christian,
First, use TiMidity++-2.12.0-pre1b source instead with ALSA 0.9.x. Find
it at http://www.timidity.jp . Better yet, try the newer, unstable
versions of TiMidity++ at http://www.sf.net/projects/timidity . Nightly
tarballs are made of the source. Although bugs exist, I can hardly

This is an old version of timidity which tries to use a now obsolete

Hi !
It doesn't relate directly to alsa, but i'm sure there are many users of
timidity !?
if i want to compile timidity with alsa_seq, it stopps using the errors:
alsaseq_c.c: In function `ctl_pass_playing_list':

I am running Redhat 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18-3 & trying to install driver

I get the same error when trying to ./configure under 0.9.0rc7
Here is what I get

I'm having some redefinition errors (struct work_struct,
__WORK_INITIALIZER, et al found in workqueue.h in the kernel source)
while trying to compile ALSA driver 0.9.0rc7. My kernel is 2.4.20-2.21
RPM from the RedHat 8.1 beta. Any ideas on the following?

Update from last e-mail just moments ago :)
Alsa .9rc8 now compiles ok with both the .9rc8a packages of drivers and
library IF the --with-jack option of the alsa-lib* package is omitted.
Otherwise, a compilation error occurs in the alsa-lib* package on my
machine referencing the lack of pcm_jac

try updating it.
I hope that helps.

I got the same error and updated gcc to 3.2.2. I still get the
"`snd_compat_vmalloc_to_page' undeclared here (not in a
function)" message when trying to compile rc8.

Hello!
I don't know much about alsa-compilation, but this sounds more like a gcc

Hi there. Remove the include/linux/isapnp.h and try rebuilding.
