First, use TiMidity++-2.12.0-pre1b source instead with ALSA 0.9.x. Find it at http://www.timidity.jp . Better yet, try the newer, unstable versions of TiMidity++ at http://www.sf.net/projects/timidity . Nightly tarballs are made of the source. Although bugs exist, I can hardly believe my ears at the improvement that gaussian interpolation has made in the sound from the latest development versions of TiMidity++. Maybe, it's just me ... ;)
