hardware (cabling) problem after all!
My sincere apologies to all those who spent time trying to help me. A
wrong "capture source" setting in my fedora 2 installation had misled
me into believing that I was recordi

alsa-utils, and now /proc/asound/version says:
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.13.
Compiled on May 16 2007 for kernel 2.6.13-15-smp (SMP).

Hello all,
If you have a SB Live 5.1 card, could you please do an experiment for
me? Could you record something via line-in and see if you get both
channels?
When I do this, I get only the right channel. Left channel is muted,
and tweaking various things via alsamixer is not helping. I've found

Hi,
Soundblaster Live Value card (device id - 1102:0006) is not supported.
It looks like it is not based on emu10k1.

Hi,
While browsing through the user comments for the Soundblaster Live Value card (device id - 1102:0006), I came across this comment by Hviid, dated 28 april 2003, wherein he says that the SB Live shipped with the Dell dimension series 8200 is not supported. What is the status of that card now

Hi all!
I couldn't find anywhere info so I am again writing to list again. If I get
help, I promise to make webpage containing info to help others.
So my system is Gentoo with 2.6 kernel and alsa 0.9.8. My card is SB Live
5.1 digital.
I managed to load soundfont with sfxload. But then I wanted

I've got a SB Live 5.1, which is working fine with ALSA in 2.5.69, but in

I have built a new system with a SB Live 5.1 and DTS3500 Cambridge
Soundworks Speaker System. I am using the digital out connector with the

Hi,
I've got ALSA working with stereo output on this card but not surround
sound. From messages on alsa-devel, it looks like other people have gotten
this working with at least four speakers; possibly all six.
My situation now:
- "front" works perfectly.
- "back" produces no error but no audio
