Oh, ensure that you also have 1.0.16 of alsa-lib installed as well.
Again, hope that helps. I've reached the end of my knowledge I'm sorry to
say.
y using alsa 1.0.15 or 1.0.16, then set the "Analog Loopback" switch ON
in your mixer (Kmix or Alsamixer). Alsa 1.0.14 or earlier will NOT work.
I've just had a five month battle to get this running, similar Intel card
and same HDA chip and codec.
Hope that helps

I have a motherboard with an onboard ALi chipset. According to lspci it
is a ALi Corporation high Definition Audio/AC97 Host Controller.
According to official manual it is anADI1986A 6 Channel High Definition

Is this card supported by alsa? What is the driver name?

I've been puzzling over this for a few weeks.
The ymf744 sound chip in my laptop worked with the OSS driver
installed with RedHat 7.2, and it worked with the alsa-0.5.12a
driver after I got all the mixer channels unmuted.
But I cannot get it to work with alsa-0.9.0beta10 or w
