Hello, I have a Terratec EWX 24/96 installed on my Kubuntu Linux using kernel 2.6.15-26-386.
The problem I have is that the card only works on random occasions when, and there's no way to make it work except by booting and wishing that next time it will work. Quite curious... I downloaded ALSA drivers 1.0.11 once the card hadn't been loaded, installed and modprobe (successfully, as lsmod tells the module is loaded), but the card is not accessible in any way (/dev/dsp , /dev/snd/ ... , kmix, alsamixer, envy24control...). Wha'ts cool is that if I reboot, maybe next time it will work, or maybe it won't. Sometimes it works during 3 consecutives boots, and then I have to boot the system 3 times more until I have sound again. Is this a hardware or a software problem? (I have never experienced this kind of malfunction under windows). Can I found some info in the logs (sorry but, where are ALSA logs?). Any solution?
