Ok, i complained few days ago about cmipci freezes System. It's not Alsa's fault, using Kernel Drivers causes same failure, two or three seconds Sound, then machine freezes, nevertheless if analog or digital or whatsoever oputput is activated. Are there _any_ success storys using the onboard cmi8

No, it is an selfcompiled 2.4.19 with patches 2.4.20-pre10 and 2.3.20-pre10-ac2 applied. I use an debian sarge and the compiler is gcc (GCC) 3.2.1 20021103 (Debian prerelease), may that cause the Problem? I need to use the ac-pathces, because ma hdd is attached to the hpt372 though... -- Kletsc
