Thanks Clemens,
There is now a error message concerning "hybrid-gfx"

Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/email.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian,

Its setup is:

...This disables the audio bit before xine plays (using passthrough) then
enables it back again so MP3s and standard digital PCM can play when Xine is
done. Now everything works great. :)

Hi all,
I was wondering how much support is currently in alsa for the ALC889a.
I have two problems that I am trying to get to the bottom of.
1. I can't seem to control the CD-in capture. I have 3 capture
sliders, all named 'Capture', but when recording I get nothing from
the CD input.
2. HDMI

I don't have a laptop, but a normal motherboard with the Intel 82801G and
very low sound, I'd like to try that.
Please provide a link to the realtek.c

Oh, and I forgot: the chip is a Realtek ALC655.

Although I can't offer any help, I wanted to say that I'm having the

I also tried it without the --with-cards or -j2 flags, and that had no
effect.
So, am I doing something wrong here, or have I found a bug?

Hi:
Just finished installing Kernel 2.6.1 and the Alsa
module.
Sound works great but everytime I reboot (and the
modules are reloaded) the volumes are all set to zero
and muted. I have to run alsamixer and turn them back
on. Is there a config file for alsamixer that can be

snd-card-cs4236 alsa module

I'm afraid rapidly getting out of my depth here. Anyone willing
tried almost matching the code in the OPL3 directory with the code from
.9.0rc7, but still no go. Thanks. BTW, this is on a SuSE 8.2 machine.

It depends on your sound card, from what I have been able to gather.
The Turtle Beach Santa Cruz apparently cannot mirror the front->rear
channels, for some reason. I read somewhere it was because the DSP
specifications weren't released by cirrus logic, but I have not found a
solution to this yet
but I
can alter the code and recompile to check it if anyone has any ideas.
TIA for any help.
