Hi there,
Mainly because I want to use the jack server, I use alsa driver on
my debian laptop,
which has a intel 810 chipset. When I insert the modules in kernel
space, I have one message which seems not right :)

Not necessarily true. The sound card manufacturers spend their spare
time figuring out how to make their cards non-
Most cards have a monitoring capability themselves. Ie they route the
input to the output automatically. Ie, use the iMic card to listen to
the signal on its output.

snd-usb-audio driver should have no problems handling it.
As for iMic which is also a USB card, it works very well for me.
One thing that is still puzzling to me is how to record from
USB and monitor recording through another so

Hi all
I am considering buying this card for laptop use and am wondering whether
it is supported by the usb-audio driver. I have checked the matrix, but
there is no mention of this card.
Thanks

Hullo :)
For many years, my entire relationship with sound on Linux has been
"modprobe sb" - I've always had a genuine SoundBlaster card of one form
or another and that line's always worked a charm for me.
Now I running Linux at work (30 PCs, all Shuttle SK41's) which have the

Some success.

I have a compaq laptop that uses this chipset, which is according to
ndiswrapper website supported. Yet I cannot install it correctly, I have
tried many drivers, and some of them do turn on the wireless activity
light on the laptop's case. In any case I cannot set the essid and

Hello!
I have some trouble with the soundchip in my Sony Vaio V505CP notebook.
I use Redhat and the default driver was i810_audio. Because of
problems with this (after a while sound did not work anymore, dma
timeout) I switched to ALSA 1.0.4.
ALSA installation worked, modules are loaded, but the

it's good to have a technical rationale for a gut decision.
