When booting with my alsa (0.9.7c) kernel (2.4.20-20-7), I get this error:

I compiled and installed the driver with card intel8x0 and
I can hear the sound , but I can not adjust the volume.
In alsamixer I can not adjust Pcm.
In kmixer I can adjust Pcm to max and min but not between 0 and 100%.
