I was looking through the FAA Requirements to get a drone license. If I
understand correctly, if you use the drone in any way as a commercial
flight, I.E. taking pictures of a tower, then you need the commercial
license.

Never thought about it that way but if you're good with it, it should be
easy money! No network to support, just wifi support.

Doing some more googling around, it looks like there are some online

A couple of things have changed since you last had a medical.
You can now do ‘BasicMed’ to satisfy the FCC requirement:
What do I need to do to fly under BasicMed?

There are several courses. I have no opinion on them specifically. You have
to take the test at a FAA designated testing location and that will cost you
roughly $100.

Nice, no EKG. I wonder if having a DOT medical card would be roughly
equivalent to the CMEC. In otherwords do I still have to see an airmans
medical examiner or can my DOT doctor do it?

Any doctor you can get to fill out the form works. It does not need to be an
AME. A lot of FAA AME’s were pissed when they came out with BasicMed because
they don’t make any money anymore.
