it works). Just type sh, then run your nohup command, then exit.
You're returned to the original shell but the jobs stays running...now you

the drives, the TSM setup is pretty straight forward.
Just define your device class of LTO, library, and drives, and you should
be ready to go. I forget the exact syntax, but look at the online help in
3.7.4.0, as it includes documentation for LTO. (define devclass, d
icrocode does not seem to have helped me.

I called rs6k hardware support, and they have a call into Advanced Tech
Support for LTO drives. Hopefully i will find out something

I remember reading that the mksysb from MCA to PCI machine will work,
however you must have the AIX cdrom in the drive during the restore so it
can grab some of the PCI lpp's that are necessary. I've never done it

I've seen a condition a few times where the TSM log will fill and the
server will crash. See the console log below. Has anyone seen this
before? Any ideas? TSM server 5.3.2.0 on AIX 5.3.

you can't do this then your other option is to have two copypools.

What you want to do is called cloning. You can get instructions on how to do this at
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/rs6k/techbrowse/. Once there click on your OS
level, type the word clone in filter
selected categories and click on the filter button. For example for AIX 4.2 and 4.
My experience has been that once I cleared up the cause of the problem, as in a
tape drive error, that the ANRD messages did not reoccur. Once the ANRD
occurred without any other obvious errors and working with support I found that I
need a patch. I suggest you fix the tape drive error a

license for each client that is backed up. IBM and Tivoli have never done a

My memory is of a project about three years ago. A client was migrating from
Legato to ADSM and left Legato on the systems for a while, until they got used
to ADSM. What I remenber is, Legato changed attribute flags every time it ran,
this caused ADSM to backup files which had not actually chang
a way to clear
this file?

The logs are not picked up by the backup. The method of handling the logs, is
to compile C language the user exit program provided by DB2 to archive (not
backup) the log files.

It is correct that the user exit does not get the currently active log. I'm
not sure that backing up the currently active log is useful. It may be in an
inconsistent state. This will result in the ROLLFORWARD DATABASE failing.
Which will require that you restore the database and rollforw
ommand-line sessions... or maybe an overall treatment.. ?

DB2 backups as with most database backups are not deleted by directly by *SM. us
the DB2 utility db2adutl to delete the backups and log archives.
