Yes, all of the basic stuff had been checked.
Richard Sims kindly pointed me in the right direction.
It was the directories that were wanting to go to tape, not the files. I

did you restart the scheduler?
Is the Client still associated to an image backup schedule?

An aside on image backup:
There's longstanding erroneous info in the Windows client manual
(5.3, 5.4) that is confusing and should be ignored: On page 79 of the
5.4 version it says, "When backing up an image using
imagetype=dynamic, after a restore always run the fsck utility."

Therefore, I think the error causes above backup process.

you can take a phicial drive on annother machine an plug it in with a

That sounds promising. Thanks Bill.
We use flashcopy to copy the file system to one mounted on another client
and backup from there - can I ask if you run online or offline Image

I've impelemented just this at a client of mine. Daily incremental with the
Journal and then a weekly IMAGE backup. They don't
conflict at all. This server currently is about 5.5 million files on 2
different drives.

This is about what I would expect. Eventhough you are using the SAN agent,
you could be still using the IP stack internal to the machine to get the
data from the client to the SAN agent. And, if this is TDP for Exchange or
TDP for SQL, there is even more CPU overhead. Without more information, I
Hello,
A recent code change has been added to reduce CPU utilization during
online (snapshot) image and offline (static) image backups. Please try
TSM Windows Client 5.1.5.9 which contains this change, before
investigating hardware changes.

Hello Smer's
Can anyone tell me about backing up raw logical volumes with Image
Backup on the 4.2 and above clients? Can you specify a particular
file/database/ or whatever, OR do you have to back up all as in a
backupset? And, if so, where can I get some info. on all this?
Thanks agai
Thanks for the answer. Effectively, the question was about Windows 2000
snapshot .

Hi
If you mean the Windows 2000 Snapshot function, No. This is only supported
using TSM ver 5 server, as far as I have learned.
