I have 5550 and it works fine for me. Just to be sure I reset the
address and then reentered it. I then sent a test trap and got it on my
management console right away.
Perhaps Rick is right; you might have a partial load of the FW.

The current library code is 5770. I would install this code level and
then call IBM if the problem is still present. I have seen strange
things like this when a firmware load doesn't complete. Even though
you said this is a new unit, the factory firmware load might have
been incomplete.

1. Yes, as is embedded in firmware. There may be some kind of
sublevel for Specialist but not aware of. I have firmware 5050
and don't see any "version" info on my Web page

Well, this is peculiar.
This is a new 3584, firmware level is 5550. (Thanks to the folks who
helped me figure that out yesterday!)
When I use the Tape Library Specialist (web interface) to set the SNMP
destination address, the Tape Library Specialist crashes.
That is, the web interface goes to "
