the TSM server that will contact the client for backup not the other way
around. As far as which ip the client will connect to if you leave the dns
entry, it will connect to the ip address that the dns entry resolves too.
The other factor to consider is that you should have the delay period for
volume reuse on your tape storage pools set equal to the length of time you
keep your database backups. Depending on how often you perform reclamation
of those pools, these could add up too!

Hi Joni, it will keep 7 copies for 30 days. If any of those 7 files go over
30 days they get expired. It's a either/or thing, whichever comes first I
guess you could say.
If you want to just keep 7 copies, then make retain extra unlimited and it
will keep 7 copies for ever
