Is there a way to check, from the server, whether a given client has Open
File Support installed & configured?
TSM server is 5.2.2 on AIX, client in question is Windows XP running TSM
5.3.2.

right? However, if the client connects anytime after it assigned random
start time, the backup should run when TSM connects, which with be within
RETRYPERIOD of the network connection becoming active. Am I understanding
this right?

not experienced with 10.4 very much at all, and the appearance is much
different than 10.3.
I will be digging around on the TSM site, but thought I try for real life

Log Space Trigger has LOG Full Percentage = 90.
Server Options has LogWarnFullPercent = 90
Logmode is RollForward.
Neither the DB nor Recovery Log have taken any expansion volumes.

Is there a way to "erase" tapes via TSM? (Or AIX?)
We have changed servers and tape format (from TSM4.1, AIX 4.something and
a 3575 library) and I am on a quest to "scrub" the old tapes so we can try
to sell them instead of having to destroy them.

I just installed TSM 5.2.2.0 on AIX. I ran the command in the Quick Start
guide to set up the web admin interface.
My AIX admin has the server locked down really tight. She has opened up
port 1580 at my request, but I still can't load the web admin page.
Any ideas?

I missed the beginning of this thread, so I apologize if this has been
answered already, but it seems related to the answer Andy gave.
I am installing TSM client 4.2.1.15 on a Windows XP machine (which had no
previous TSM client), but the scheduler does not work if
schedmode=polling. The service
attempt is under a
new OS installation. I have given the user the latest client for Windows (4.2.1.15) to
install, but I suspect that it will not help. Any ideas?

Just a thought : Is your primary disk pool set up properly with next
storage pool to a tape pool that exists an

tapeprompt=no. The file should go straight to the secondary backup storage
pool, which is a tape pool, and that appears to be what the server is
trying to do, but something is going wrong. Any ideas?

The "dry run" approach doesn't list the volume label needed, and the
option to skip all objects on this volume is not supported. Oh well.
