Are you trying to label and LTO1 tape. A TS3310 only supports LTO3 drives.
LTO3 drives can not write to LTO1 media. Or, even if the tapes are LTO3 do
they have LTO1 labels on them. TSM will see the "L1" on the tape label and
being that the LTO3 drives can't write to an L1 tape you can get the

I went thru this 6 months ago, going from 8 lto2 to 4 lto3 and 4 lto2.
I can't say this is a complete procedure, but here are some key points.
Go to version 5.3.3.* for the server and device driver. lto3 media
isn't
recognized at a lower version.
My lto2 device classes had format=dri
We are also experiencing this same issue with the TDP SQL client. We
just restored a 41 GB database in about an hour and a half. We
previously had cancelled the restore several times because the session
was in a SendW, and we thought it was hung. Then it failed because it

The amount of time it will take depends on the types of disks, speed of
disks, and database file layout.
Data Protection for SQL is "blocked" until the SQL Server finishes
