Question:
Why would having your laptop docked or un-docked make a difference in
backup.
The only reason I have my Laptop docked is I don't want to look @ a 17"

My NIC card communicates the same way being docked or un-docked.

Yes, a schedule is defined. So, does using the laptop undocked preclude you
from having scheduling set up?

Didn't think this was possible. Did you have to do anything to the L700 to
configure the virtual libraries? Is SHARED=YES required for this config?
Is there any disadvantage to always setting SHARED=YES?

TSM does not support mixed SCSI libraries. You need software that
virtualizes the library, such as ACSLS.

I do not believe there is any direct support in TSM for having 2 types of

You do not tell us your server platform, so I am not sure if this will help

I thought of that too but the problem with that is that you lose all the extra

Hi Rick,
I might try collocation first by node (ie. ON) then by filespace - if you have extra
tapes and capacity.
Buy as much disk as you can for a disk pool.
You might try optimizing your database access.

Or if there are a LOT of files, I believe you can do it by EXPORTING the

the only way I can think of..
