[Bug 361607] Re: Tomboy Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Could not read add-in description
I received this exact same error after the latest updates to my 8.10 installation on Asus Eee900. The updates installed according to the dpkg.log has nothing to do with tomboy or mono, however. "rm -rf ~/.tomboy/addin-db00*" fixed this issue, and another one. I've had an issue with tomboy closing when pushing the cross of the window decoration. Now it's back to the default, which is minimize to tray. -- Tomboy Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Could not read add-in description https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/361607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 259028] Re: 0.7, 3G USB devices detected by usb-storage maybe need modeswitch
I have Telenor Mobile Broadband in Norway. My USB adapter identify as 0af0:6971 Option. I can't get network-manager to recognize this as a modem even if I am able to load the usbserial module with it. I am able to connect using HSOConnect, though. The problem with this approach is that HSOConnect doesn't integrate with network-manager, so not all GNOME programs accept the fact they're online. In Firefox I had to remove the "work offline" tick from the file menu to be able to surf. Why wouldn't networ-manager connect through my ttyUSBs? ** Attachment added: "udev rule for telenor (option modem)" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17719552/99-telenor.rules -- 0.7, 3G USB devices detected by usb-storage maybe need modeswitch https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259028 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 272254] [NEW] Option Icon 225 HSDPA mobile broadband modem not detected
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager The modem depends on usb_modeswitch (http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/), which I load using udev rules (attached). To connect with the modem, I have to use HSOconnect (http://www.pharscape.org/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,68/page,viewtopic/t,474/), as that's the only way I've found to work. wvdial doesn't detect the modem, even if I load the usbserial module on it, and the same applies to gnome-ppp. Then network-manager is no better off. I can't see any way to tell network-manager that I have this modem connected to my computer. It's loaded with the hso module, but network-manager doesn't detect the ttyUSB's either. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Option Icon 225 HSDPA mobile broadband modem not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272254 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 315257] [NEW] Installer and color sight problems
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity I am red/green color blind. The choice of red and green tones in the partition editor section of the installer is very hard to distinguish. It would be better if there was either a black line between each partition or if the red and green colors had a greater contrast when put aside each other. Color blindness doesn't necessarily mean I see only black and white, as I see both red and green though I'm "red/green color blind". [Bug 156296] Installer doesn't offer import of user even if home partition is left untouched
Public bug reported: I've got four partitions on this laptop: a hidden fat32 OEM-supplied Windows XP recovery partition, a SWAP partition, a root partition and a home partition. I got two choices in the partition section of the installer; use the whole disk or manual. I chose manual mode. (screenshot 1) I didn't want the XP partition mounted or formatted, so I left it like it was - and removed the suggested mounting path. I chose to format the root partition. I wanted to keep the user, so I only chose to mount the home partition on /home and left it without formatting it. (screenshot 2) Then I clicked next. The import user section told me there were no users to import. The import case should be easy, since the home partition isn't formatted. You could even let the user be imported directly, keeping the password and the group membership for default groups by parsing a couple of files in the old /etc before formatting the root partition. [Bug 156055] Re: Windows shows on several workspaces
I'll check out the gutsy-proposed libraries to see if it gets any better. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be the window manager's job to keep track of where to put windows at the end of an close/open cycle. The question must be _how_ the windows communicate where they want to be when they reopen. This question might not have been investigated to closely, since there's been few people who would replace metacity as the default window manager before. One reason this would be the window manager's job is that they treat "workspaces" differently (they were "virtual desktops" before compiz). In other words: how to communicate a window's position/size/state state should be communicated in a standard way between apps and window managers. I'm curious who's job it would be if it isn't the window manager's? It seems like the ipw3945.ko is missing from the 2.6.22-13 build, together with the firmware ipw3945.ucode. $ locate ipw3945 /lib/modules/2.6.22-12-generic/ubuntu/wireless/ipw3945 /lib/modules/2.6.22-12-generic/ubuntu/wireless/ipw3945/ipw3945.ko /lib/firmware/2.6.22-12-generic/ipw3945.ucode /etc/modprobe.d/ipw3945 /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/RestrictedManager/handlers/ipw3945.py /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/RestrictedManager/handlers/ipw3945.pyc /usr/share/restricted-manager/modalias_override/ipw3945.manual /sbin/ipw3945d-2.6.22-13-generic /sbin/ipw3945d-2.6.22-12-generic Packages: i linux-image-2.6.22-12-generic i linux-image-2.6.22-13-generic i linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22-12-generic i linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22-13-generic i A linux-restricted-modules-common i A linux-restricted-modules-generic ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- ipw3945 doesn't work after gutsy update (2.6.22-10) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 134193] Re: ipw3945 doesn't work after gutsy update (2.6.22-10)
This is a critical bug, I won't be able to use wireless ipw3945 with gutsy. The latest update to 2.6.22-14 doesn't bring the ipw3945.ko module. ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Canonical Kernel Team (canonical-kernel-team) -- ipw3945 doesn't work after gutsy update (2.6.22-10) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 146222] Re: Gutsy: Import user didn't succeed - data loss occured
Evan, Choosing the whole disk gave no option of importing user. Likewise using the manual partitioner to define formatting of the whole partition. Then I chose resize, which never went on after successfully reduzing the size of the existing partition. I closed the installer, then started it again. There was a new option to use existing free space. I chose to use free space and got the import user choice. I chose to import the old user (nora) to a new user (per). I clicked "next" and created a new user (nora), that also gave the name to the computer (nora-laptop). I will leave a new comment and attachments with the results. -- Gutsy: Import user didn't succeed - data loss occured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/146222 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 146222] Re: Gutsy: Import user didn't succeed - data loss occured
Evan, I'll do that. This time, the import user worked like it should. This bug is fixed. [Bug 153565] Re: Lacking PDF forms i18n support in Evince
The large text field below the text "Hvilken vare eller tjeneste klages det på?" in the test case contains the text "Ny bærbar PC kjøpt hos Elkjøp" but this text is rendered as "Ny bÊrbar PC kj¯pt hos Elk¯p" This is a locale problem. [Bug 153565] Re: Lacking PDF forms i18n support in Evince
The wrongly rendered text is what I put in there, using the new support for PDF forms in poppler. All other Norwegian characters in the PDF, which means the text put in by the form's author (the static text), are rendered correctly. -- Lacking PDF forms i18n support in Evince https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
