[Bug 81137] Re: [Gutsy+Feisty] suspend and hibernate fail on MB Asrock K8NF6G-VSTA
Gutsy broke both hibernate and suspend for me. Hardy didn't manage any better either, and both were clean installs. Last working release was Feisty, and that's too old to be of much use. I tried following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend for a few hours, but didn't manage to get it working on my computer. -- [Gutsy+Feisty] suspend and hibernate fail on MB Asrock K8NF6G-VSTA https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/81137 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 215689] Re: Want auto-configuration or gui configuration of Wacom tablets
If you want to track the issue, there's a blueprint for Jaunty at https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/wacom-tablets-ui There's been a few discussions in ubuntu-devel-discuss, ubuntu-x, linuxwacom-discuss and linuxwacom-devel. Check the archives for October/November 2008. xorg mailing list has offered nothing (the person that proposed HAL and .fdi files for wacom tablets doesn't seem to have understood that HAL won't allow more than one device, and that it's not going to work). As a quick summary, hotpluging won't allow a decent solution in the next few month, or even years (see the discussions), and nobody has even offered the beginning of a possible solution. So for the moment there's only xorg.conf. -- Want auto-configuration or gui configuration of Wacom tablets https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215689 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 293564] Re: /etc/hal/fdi/policy/*wacom.fdi needs to exist and the ‘eraser’ and ‘cursor’ need to be enabled by default in addition to ‘stylus’
Kaihsu Tai, the fdi file doesn't need to exist in /etc/hal/fdi/policy/, there's already one in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/ installed by the package xserver-xorg-input-wacom and it should already be enough for the stylus (unless you're affected by a bug in the 0.8.1.4 wacom drivers, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wacom Option A). The /etc/hal/fdi/policy/ is the place to copy it if you want to edit your stylus options (see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wacom.fdi ). However, you only get stylus. If you want to get the eraser, cursor, pad... you need to edit your xorg.conf as in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wacom option B) and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WacomTroubleshooting ). Come to the forum if you have questions. However, part of your bug report is still true - there need to be a solution for eraser/cursor/etc, but that's not possible at the moment (adding the lines in the .fdi file won't work). Hopefully it can be solved for Jaunty (see the discussion there : https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-x/2008-November/000243.html and there : https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel- discuss/2008-November/006205.html ). I had a look at your xorg.conf, and it's not a "default" one since apparently you upgraded. Remove the # (only one) at the beginning of the lines concerning wacom sections (stylus, eraser, cursor) and the ones concerning the same devices in "ServerLayout". But make sure you make sure you make a copy of your xorg.conf and can either copy it under a command line (CTRL-ALT-F1) or boot on a live CD, mount the / partition and copy it from there. -- /etc/hal/fdi/policy/*wacom.fdi needs to exist and the ‘eraser’ and ‘cursor’ need to be enabled by default in addition to ‘stylus’ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293564 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 291721] Re: Wacom tablet support has degraded severely
AFAIR Hardy didn't even had the lines commented out, yours might have come from Gutsy if you did an upgrade instead of an upgrade from scratch. So Feisty>Gutsy>Hardy is downgrades all the way with Hardy being really bad (and it's an LTS), Intrepid is an improvement for USB tablets since at least the stylus works by default (but since wacomcpl doesn't work with this method it's useless for Cintiq). For TabletPC and serial Tablets, nothing works better than in Hardy. Check the guide at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wacom (option B) ) and come to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=967147 if you need help. And the workaround (Option B, using xorg.conf) doesn't actually break autodetection - it was a mistake from a developer comment, but the wiki has been edited now and you won't lose autodetection if you follow it. -- Wacom tablet support has degraded severely https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291721 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Andrew, your bug report is really detailed, thanks. I don't know how to solve the problem. [Bug 295292] Re: [intrepid] suspend/resume with wacom pointers rotated loses calibration
Andrew, that page needs to be corrected then. Is it for installing the binaries or compiling? For the crash, your also had the crash before installing the 0.8.1.6 wacom drivers with an xorg.conf that doesn't have any configuration for wacom devices. Then after updates you didn't have it, and after installing the 0.8.1.6 wacom drivers you had it again - it's going to get hard to trobleshoot, especially if some updates were installed in the meantime. [Bug 284951] Re: Intrepid: Gamepad "Saitek P580" not working in games, buttons not detected.
whatawookie, for the sake of clarity, can you give the output of: dpkg -p xserver-xorg-input-evdev And check you don't have jscalibrator, jscal, joystick-calibrator or whatever program like that installed. Also, did you upgrade to Intrepid or is this a clean install? Can you check with a non-wireless joystick (wireless introduces its own set of problems)? Last, if you checked that it didn't work either for an USB joystick, can you boot an Intrepid Live CD, apply all updates, maybe do a sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart and restart X, Then check with both an USB joystick and a wireless one? [Bug 200127] Re: ubuntu incorrectly believes I enjoy staring at progress bars
Hopefully we keep the old behavior, at least as an option. I'd hate it if it started behaving like in Windows, and hid me information I want to see. I actually want to know when it's finished downloading (and if not yet how long it's going to take) so I can close the connection when I'm on pay-per-time, and I also want to know when the updates have been applied so I know when I can start one of the programs that have gotten an update. There's plenty of other reasons of course, depending on the kind of updates and what I'm doing. -- ubuntu incorrectly believes I enjoy staring at progress bars https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 200127] Re: ubuntu incorrectly believes I enjoy staring at progress bars
@Paul: the description of the bug clearly states: "In WIndows for instance, it asks you if you want to install new updates and then the updater moves to the system tray and stays out of my way very efficiently. Once the updates are installed I get a small popup baloon telling me that everything went well, that's all." Then go on suggesting the same should happen in Ubuntu. There was also Sancho's post just above mine: "What I'm suggesting is once the user has clicked the "install updates" button, minimize update managers to the notif area and if everything goes well, display a notif bubble for a coupla seconds. Bother the user only if something has not gone right with the updates." It would be nice if the wouldn't disregard any other experience than their own when they decide that if they don't use a functionality themselves the system must be wrong to offer it. And as far as the Windows example goes, they don't offer virtual desktops, it doesn't make them any less valuable on a decent OS. As far as stealing the focus is concerned, it's indeed something that could be avoided if the progress bar was inside the main updater window (but that also means working on a solution for Synaptic, which has the same "steal the focus" problem). I personally find metacity "functionality" to let everything but their mom steal the focus far more annoying than this specific case. I just consider I'm not alone on this planet, some people must value it, and I'm completely free to use another window manager.
As a side note, there's a pretty simple trick to not have update-manager steal your focus: just open it on a separate virtual desktop, and it's out of the way for good. Still good to prevent it to open successive windows if we can get the progress bar in the main window, but in the meantime that might be nice to know for "straight from Windows" first time Linux users. Often something that pester you can be made completely irrelevant when you learn a bit more about the new OS. -- ubuntu incorrectly believes I enjoy staring at progress bars https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

An appropriate message is printed to stderr. - fix to ConvertToUTF8() to support correct behavior on MacOSX - fix to top-level Makefile.am because a file was going into $prefix/doc/PACKAGE rather than the correct $prefix/share/doc/PACKAGE Version 1.7.2 [ David Bruce ] - fixed crashing bug in cascade game in fullscreen due to size of blit queue not being big enough. - fixed drawing glitch in cascade game where words with terminal 'W' had not been getting fully erased in redraw - changed title graphic to "TuxType" instead of "TuxType2" - added opening sound "harp.wav" from Tux Paint. - added rest of fonts needed for remaining Indic languages - changed "warning" output from image loader so it only prints if debug on. Version 1.7.1 [ David Bruce ] - additional code to work around unreliability of setlocale() under Windows. We now set LANG for both the C compiler and OS as well, using Bruno Haible's my_setenv() function from the GNU Gettext FAQ. Tuxtype now starts in the correct language for the underlying OS, and also switches translations with theme changes. It does not yet automatically pick the correct theme on startup to match the current LANG. - additional code in ConvertToUTF8() to handle Windows' 16-bit wchar_t vs. unix's 32-bit wchar_t. [Bug 306399] Re: New upstream version available (1.2.2)
Forgot the changelog. As always, packages available at https://launchpad.net/~loic-martin3/+archive/xvid for both Karmic and Jaunty. xvidcore (2:1.2.2-0ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low * New upstream release (LP: #306399); * [debian/control]: - change dependency from yasm to nasm (can be reverted once we package xvid 1.3+); - bump Standards-Version to 3.8.1; - bump debhelper to 5; - add myself as uploader; - improve long and short descriptions, add ASP after MPEG-4 to differentiate from MPEG-4 AVC codecs. * [debian/copyright]: author the file, each source file checked for author and license, forward files with missing/incomplete information upstream; * [debian/patches]: drop patches (01_ia64_fix, CVE-2007-3329), applied upstream; * [debian/rules]: - write a get-orig-source target to repackage tarball (drop upstream debian directory, change directory name from xvidcore to xvidcore-1.2.1); - changes in dhlink and dh_install lines (inspired from upstream) so it creates the right links for this version and hopefully future ones; - overall cleanup (+patching system will probably move to quilt on Debian side, no patches at the moment). * [debian/watch]: adapt the file to the new site; * [debian/README.source]: create the file, document repackaging; * [debian/*.dirs and debian/*.install]: create the files. -- Loïc Martin Fri, 29 May 2009 14:48:28 +0200 -- New upstream version available (1.2.2) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306399 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I got in touch with one of qGo's developers, since the .desktop file also has badly encoded translation. I'll fix this bug and the translations problem when I get an answer. However, there will probably be no update for Ubuntu 9.04 for a simple .desktop file mistake (i.e. the fix will only appear in 9.10) unless there's a serious issue - so could you tell us what problem (if any) this causes on your system? -- error in desktop file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 333651] Re: Please upgrade s3cmd to 0.9.9
0.9.9 is now in Karmic, so it's not an upgrade bug anymore. To get 0.9.9 in Jaunty, this bug needs to change to a backport request, and you need to find a few people to test the bacported packages in Jaunty. I've got packages for Jaunty to test on my ppa at https://launchpad.net/~loic-martin3/+archive/ppa/+files/s3cmd_0.9.9-2~jaunty1_all.deb ; however I can't test them myself since I never used the program nor the Amazon service. If 2 or 3 people could test them on Jaunty then the backport could be considered. However, without any feedback it won't work, since nobody would know for sure that it won't break on end user desktops. ** Also affects: jaunty-backports Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: s3cmd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: jaunty-backports Status: New => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - Please upgrade s3cmd to 0.9.9 + Please backport s3cmd 0.9.9 to Jaunty ** Description changed: - New upstream release s3cmd 0.9.9 is available. Feel free to open a new bug if you really need 4.0 in Ubuntu 9.10 though (if it's not there in the next few weeks), but then it may be better to open a bug in Debian, since the packaging for chicken is done in Debian not Ubuntu. [Bug 329298] Re: Please upgrade to Gnucash 2.2.9
Saïvann: I checked the bug report before starting to work on the package - the bug has been open since November 2008 (more than 6 month). Last message from the pacckager was Thu, 19 Feb 2009 11:52:19 -0800 > I expect to upload a new version this weekend. Now let's check for how long we've been out of date gnucash | 2.2.4-1ubuntu1 | hardy/universe | source, amd64, i386 gnucash | 2.2.6-2ubuntu3 | intrepid/universe | source, amd64, i386 gnucash | 2.2.6-2ubuntu5 | jaunty/universe | source, amd64, i386 gnucash | 2.2.6-3ubuntu1 | karmic/universe | source, amd64, i386 Gnucash 2.2.7 was released in September 2008. Waiting more could mean we'll get in a situation where because of DIF, FF or anything else, gnucash will still be outdated in Karmic. I kept the Debian packaging intact - didn't correct any of the lintian errors or packaging mistakes, so we can just sync with Debian when somehow the package gets updated in Debian. We do that quite often actually, and for gnucash, if you check the changelog, the package was already modified in Ubuntu - 2.2.9, since the patches are already there, can actually drop the modifications and make it simpler to sync with Debian. 2.2.6 also suffers from a bug (a patch has been in Debian, reverted/fixed upstream because buggy, but never fixed in Debian/Ubuntu), so keeping 2.2.6 in Karmic serves no purpose. -- Please upgrade to Gnucash 2.2.9 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329298 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 329298] Re: Please upgrade to Gnucash 2.2.9
Saïvann: note that it could also help Debian to update its package. Since all patches are upstream, and my changelog details it, it should be really straightforward. However, in case there's a delay, we'd get it in Ubuntu at least, can't do anything more for Debian. Also, version in Ubuntu is 2.2.9-0ubuntu1, Debian would be 2.2.9-1, it's made like that so we can update from upstream while posing no problem with Debian sync/merge. -- Please upgrade to Gnucash 2.2.9 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329298 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 329298] Re: Please upgrade to Gnucash 2.2.9
Saïvann: the diff.gz is the only thing necessary on an upgrade bug report. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Sponsorship/SponsorsQueue for example. Particularly, uploading an orig.tar.gz would be a security risk, since the uploader could just have put whatever he wants in it - that's why our packaging have to apply to an upstream tarball. That's also what the watch file is about please read the changelog: * [debian/watch]: create watch file.). As for patches, it's common practice not to remove them, even though they can be removed sometimes - in this case they can be removed when we sync with Debian. Since I'm not the maintainer, I chose to do as little modifications as possible (since we're hopefully going to sync with Debian someday). All in all, they won't raise any conflicts in a merge report. In that case, they don't do any harm. On the other hand, I removed the patches that were applied directly to the source. [Bug 15495] Re: "Archive Manager" doesn't mean anything if you don't know what an "archive" is
I've asked a few non-technical users (mostly Windows users), all were confused by the term "compress". They can grasp the "extract" idea, but unless you're technical or learned to used "zip" at a time were space was dear (floppies, small hard drives) you'll have no idea what compression can mean on a computer. People I asked had ideas of physically compressing stuff, like hydraulic presses and the stuff, and it never related to any "space-saving" idea, even less on anything that could make sense in a computer. One also has to note that zip has long been supplanted by RAR on the Windows side (other OS users never really favored zip, which has bad compression ratio). RAR labels the files it produces as _archives_ , not any other term. There's also self-extracting archives on the Windows side, they end by .exe and are called self-extracting _archives_ So my guess is we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot in order to appease a small fraction of our userbase. There might be a better word than archives, but up now that's the only descriptive name people are used to, including on Windows (discarding the ones that only know the files by their extensions in Windows, which we can't do much about, since zip isn't really used any more on the Internet, and RAR, like zip, doesn't mean much for people that don't know those extensions). As for "compress", it's far more confusing (you're focusing on the not-so- simple compression process, while for archives people can far more easily grasp the idea that some files are grouped inside a "wrapping"). Also, when people extract a file, they can clearly see the idea that some files are inside another one - have fun explaining the idea that the same files were also "compressed" ;) -- "Archive Manager" doesn't mean anything if you don't know what an "archive" is https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/15495 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 369820] Re: Stealthy update-manager with virtual desktops
Just a detail: the problem is made even worse by the fact update-manager starts as a minimized window. When you use virtual desktops, you don't really need the bottom panel, since each app has its desktop, making the panel irrelevant (no need to use it for switching applications). As it is in Jaunty, I can go for weeks without noticing security updates. The designer(s) advocating the new behaviour and considering the newly introduced bugs could be ironed out afterwards probably needs to reassess his/her priorities before being trusted with critical features. Complaining updates shouldn't use the notification area but using the bottom panel as a giant notification area (or the whole desktop, in case update-manager would open non-minimised) doesn't strike me as a great design either. -- Stealthy update-manager with virtual desktops https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 332945] Re: [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information / new update-manager behaviour is annoying
mac_v wrote: > The notification area icon is *not* returning... That's not true. The notification area icon is probably not returning for the next release of Ubuntu, but in 2 or 3 years time, when "everybody" will have forgotten, there's nothing to prevent it to be reintroduced as a groundbreaking "new" feature in Ubuntu. It just needs the "designer" to change his mind (unless the idea to "test" it in Jaunty was just for show, and the "designer" actually only care to get his feature implemented), or just move on to another job. It might take more time, maybe 5 to 10 years, but saying it will not return is a bit far-fetched. And saying that saving 20x20 pixel (the notification area icon) is an issue only to waste far more space on the bottom panel (Window List) and on the desktop is certainly a design issue that needs to be rethought. Since it doesn't use the notification icon, the new behavior actually has to use the Windows List AND the desktop as huge notification areas - they're not designed for this task, and misusing desktop features is certainly a bigger design issue. -- [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information / new update-manager behaviour is annoying https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332945 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 346246] Re: Kubuntu Jaunty doe not offer to install MP3 codecs
Same thing happens in Ubuntu (Gnome desktop), Amaroks fails to play files in restricted codecs, but don't offer to download them either. Install is from Ubuntu 9.04 Beta 1, but with all updates. ** Changed in: amarok (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - Kubuntu Jaunty doe not offer to install MP3 codecs + Amarok in Kubuntu/Ubuntu Jaunty does not offer to install restricted codecs (like MP3) ** Tags added: regression -- Amarok in Kubuntu/Ubuntu Jaunty does not offer to install restricted codecs (like MP3) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346246 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 346246] Re: Amarok in Kubuntu/Ubuntu Jaunty does not offer to install restricted codecs (like MP3)
Myriam: Amarok (1.4) in Kubuntu/Ubuntu 8.10 offered this option. Upon playing an mp3, it would prompt for install of restricted codecs (and install them if the user wants it). In 9.04, Amarok (2.0) doesn't do this anymore. >But Amarok doesn't handle codec download at all and never has, > this depends on your distributors choice to offer (or not) preinstalled > mp3 codecs for the xine sound engine. Note that this bug is opened against amarok (_Ubuntu_), not against the upstream project. For amarok (_Ubuntu_) it's a regression (even though Amarok 2.0 is a different beast than 1.4, it's still an upper version of the same program, which is valid for reporting a regression). -- Amarok in Kubuntu/Ubuntu Jaunty does not offer to install restricted codecs (like MP3) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346246 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Obviously I wouldn't have filed a regression if I thought that. Amarok 2.X has been chosen as a replacement for 1.4 in Ubuntu 9.04, whatever the codebase it's a regression for the user of the same application. Again note that the bug is limited to the Ubuntu project, nobody has suggested to file it upstream. -- Amarok in Kubuntu/Ubuntu Jaunty does not offer to install restricted codecs (like MP3) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346246 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 306399] Re: New upstream version available (1.2.1)
I've been moving the past few days (that was a really short notice and unexpected), and am still in the process of unpacking things ;) The packaging I've submited in the diff.gz on 19/02 isn't satisfying, after having done what people advised in their answers I noticed the simlinks aren't created in the right way, and I need to fix that first. The package + rdepends has been on my ppa at https://launchpad.net /~loic-martin3/+archive, all the rdepends build fine when the symlinks aren't set correctly, but gts-plugins and mpeg4ip fails to build with a newer version of the packaging (that version has the right symlinks for libxvidcore, but not for libxvidcore-dev). I need to figure how to correct the symlink first, then rebuild. I should have more time to spend on this issue in a few days. I'm attaching the diff of the symbols of libxvidcore4, I wanted to wait till the packaging was fixed before uploading it, but moving got in the way. ** Attachment added: "diff of the symbols of libxvidcore4" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23155368/symbols.diff -- New upstream version available (1.2.1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306399 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 340370] Re: wacom graphire 4 classic ubuntu 9.04
nowardev, please make sure you have configured each device in your xorg.conf. Your bug report is actually the expected situation by default in both Intrepid and Jaunty (default because there's no perfect solution yet being offered in Ubuntu, not because it's what we want to achieve), till the user configures /etc/X11/xorg.conf (see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WacomTroubleshooting and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wacom). ** Changed in: wacom-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- wacom graphire 4 classic ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 340370] Re: wacom graphire 4 classic ubuntu 9.04
If you haven't configured xorg.conf yet, please say so. If you have it configured and faced the situation described in the bug report, make sure you plug your tablet before X start (just boot with the tablet plugged), and if the problem persists please attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf to this bug report. -- wacom graphire 4 classic ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 340370] Re: wacom graphire 4 classic ubuntu 9.04
Ok, I'm marking this bug as invalid since it's the expected behavior in Intrepid and Jaunty, and there's already bugs open for enabling wacom in ubuntu in an easier way. nowardev, even though this bug report isn't done for this kind of help (use the forums, like http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=967147), if you look at the guide I pointed earlier (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WacomTroubleshooting) you'll notice your ServerLayout section is missing at least 2 lines (that are necessary since Intrepid). For example, use instead (and note you don't send core events for the pad): Section "ServerLayout" Identifier"Default Layout" Screen"Default Screen" InputDevice "stylus" "SendCoreEvents" InputDevice "eraser" "SendCoreEvents" InputDevice "cursor" "SendCoreEvents" InputDevice "pad" EndSection ** Changed in: wacom-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- wacom graphire 4 classic ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 293397] Re: no application menu entry
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=tuxtype&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all shows it did enter the main repositories. As usual, the fix is always released first on the development release (9.04 here), to include it in Intrepid would mean a request for an SRU, which can take a while to get processed (and I'm not the one deciding if it gets accepted either). It should be possible to just assign it to Intrepid in this bug though, but no guarantee the archive admins are going to accept it in a stable release. -- no application menu entry https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293397 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 210340] Re: install failure if 2 both monitors are active
Alexk, if you have a CD burner you can just make a Live CD for Ubuntu Intrepid Beta 1, then try to boot it. You don't need to install it (thus no need to make some space on your hardrive, etc... Just boot the Live CD, mait till you get a garbled screen, possibly take a picture with a portable phone or similar, then CTRL-ALT-F2 to a console (black screen with only text, a bit like DOS). You will have to mount a partition or (safer) a usbkey. With a USB key, just insert the key, wait a few seconds, then type : ls /media/ And you should see something like /media/disk or similar. Just type: cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /media/disk/ cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log /media/disk Then: umount /media/disk (or just wait a bit) And reboot with CTRL-ALT-SUPPR, remove the CD and nothing will have changed on your computer, but your usb key will have the required files xorg.conf and /Xorg.0.log. Remember than in the console (text mode) you just need to type the beginning of the files and directories names, then press TAB (the key just left of the Q key on a QWERTY keyboard) and the rest can be autocompleted. -- install failure if 2 both monitors are active https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
