Timo, I just checked xserver-xorg-input-evdev_2.0.99+git20080912-0ubuntu3.1_amd64.deb on my amd64 computer with a Dual Shock 3, and I can still crash X by pressing any of the buttons (I checked it was installed and rebooted the computer to make sure). I this code is only for one joystick model I can't say it won't work though ;)
