[Bug 1069618] Re: Skype App crashes when sending files
My apologies for getting back to this bug after a long time. Here is what I've to share that I had come across some months back but could not find enough time to report it here (glad I'm doing it now). Though I have reported it on ubuntuforums. Here it is: If I start the skype with super user privileges, it works perfectly. Strangely enough the application interface also gets a bit changed. More sharp and sleazy. Moreover, the file sending also gets underway smoothly no matter how big the size. But again if I run skype without "su" the "file send crash problem" arises. I've also tried to do some work on file like for wireshark to capture and display packets we have to sudo chgrp X /usr/bin/dumpcap sudo chmod 754 /usr/bin/dumpcap sudo setcap 'CAP_NET_RAW+eip CAP_NET_ADMIN+eip' /usr/bin/dumpcap Don't know what to do in case of Skype Hope this might be helpful towards diagnosis of the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069618 Title: Skype App crashes when sending files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/skype/+bug/1069618/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 946152] Re: No agents were available for the request
The same happends to me for WiFi connections. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 but still using the /home directory from 11.04 and reseted the gnome / unity settings. The old WiFi connections were transfered anyway (maybe at the fist start) and the described problem apears if I try to edit the old connections that have encryptions enabled. [Bug 1069618] Re: Skype App crashes when sending files
I've tested the functionality on 4.1.0.20 and it crashes nonetheless. Interesting facts. I stumbled upon the following thread http://community.skype.com/t5/Linux/...ght/true#M3172 and using some rational found that if skype is launched with root like "gksudo skype" or "sudo skype", then not only interface is more elegant but file transfer function works as well. Now I can send the file no matter how big is the size. However, I don't want to run the skype with root privileges. [Bug 2106598] Re: Cannot wake up after sleeping
Is there a fail rate for this symptom or it always happened - I don't really understand what you want to know. And can you switch to Vritual Console by Ctrl+Alt+X - Yes, I can switch to Vritual Console by Ctrl+Alt+FX This problem appeared on April 7. On the night from April 10 to 11, I left the laptop open, did not close it, after the night the system resumed work without problems. It turns out that the problem occurs precisely because of background processes that occur in sleep mode with the laptop closed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2106598 Title: Cannot wake up after sleeping To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2106598/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Invalid package information After updating your package information, the essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' could not be located.
