2009-09-14 Thread Lauren
Has anyone actually tested out the device? Am I reading it right from the email
threads that only the $299 or $399 would be accessible and not the 8GB one?

Actually, my reason for starting this thread was not about a blind person
singing karaoke but about a blind person actually operating the software
itself where he/she can choose the songs and get them up on the screen.

Re: Audigy Sound Cards

2009-09-14 Thread Brian Olesen

Hi james,
Oh the Audegy brand has been fased out long time ago, so now it's called
x-fi.
There are quite afew good versions out now also with a nice break out box
for building in to the computer, so you can connect all kind of gear through
jacks and RCAs directly to the front of the computer.

The best of these is about $ 200.

Hello List!

Back in early 2002, I purchased an Audigy Sound card for my desktop; I
think it was the top of the line Audigy Card. I would like to know how if
I can now get a current Audigy Card for my modern PC's. If possible, I
would like for someone on the list to give me a few samples of the
available Audigy Sound Cards on the market today so I can pick one up.
I'd probably like to have an internal one, as I have not had too much
success with USB External Sound Cards, especially in Skype, as soon as I
switch the external USB sound Card on and use it in skype, skype features
do not work, especially the phone calling feature; then when I try to use
skype afterwards, the skype sound system is messed up. This is why I want
an audigy internal sound card, as I never had these types of problems with
internal cards.

Hello!

I have Nero 9 and recently purchased Nero Liquid TV (a Tivo Control
Program) that allows one to watch television on a PC or enables one to
control a regular tivo machine via the computer or a remote control (I
think). Well, when I tried to setup Nero Liquid TV, it said I needed a TV
Tuner Card. I would like to know if there are external tv tuner cards
available and, if so, could someone give me a couple of suggestions of
some that would work with Nero Liquid TV.

As I recall, you were doing it correctly, so I don't have an explanation for
why it didn't work. Left bracket marks the beginning, right bracket marks
the end. If you use JAWS, there are very good scripts for the program, and
as I recall, the Window-Eyes set files do most of the same thing. There is
an accessibility section of the manual. You can also modify the keystrokes,
which I have done to make them more user-friendly. Make sure AutoScrollLock
on the view menu is checked.

You can manually split the file into tracks, going track by track. Press B
at the beginning of the track and then press N at the end of the track.
Press CTRL+E to save this selected track to a new file. You do this for
each track and you will have a separate MP3 file for each track.

You can also use the Pause Detection feature on the Special menu to detect
pauses and set cue points which can be used to automatically split the file.
I haven't done much of this but that's the theory and it probably works
pretty well if you get your pause length right.
