you have to change the view settings from scroll lock to some other view or
the left and right brackets won't do a thing. control L should fix it for
you.

As I recall, you were doing it correctly, so I don't have an explanation

why it didn't work. Left bracket marks the beginning, right bracket marks
the end. If you use JAWS, there are very good scripts for the program, and
as I recall, the Window-Eyes set files do most of the same thing. There
is
an accessibility section of the manual. You can also modify the
keystrokes,
which I have done to make them more user-friendly. Make sure
AutoScrollLock
on the view menu is checked.
