Hello, Yes, I usually use Winamp, but just tried the Windows Media Player and still the same. I have tried headphones and they have the same simularity. If I go down to 3 or so on the balance scale, the sound is almost what a person would expect the 50 percent to be. WellIf that is what it is going to have to be, then will go on having it that way. But it is still not correct as per my way of thinking. Morey, One last thought - Wonder if there could be a defect in your sound card's circuitry. It would be interesting to see if you get the same imbalance with another card. Sony makes a good set with a microphone and a headset that is split so that you can hear yourself in one ear and the connection is split off so that a producer can speak to you in the other ear. Sanhouser also makes a couple of models that are also acceptable that have been used in the broadcast industry for years. The very best thing you can do is learn how to put everything together on your own server as it were, and then when you do your audition for a station, you'll have everything all put together. You don't have to do it this way but I've found that it's best to have everything all in a row. How I do it is different than others do it, but I use the what you hear option of my sound card, and that allows me to talk over the music and with keystrokes from within Winamp I can very easily control the volume of the music. Others use the line recording plugin, which doesn't allow you to talk over the top of the music but still gives you a reasonably professional sound. Yet another option is to use a mixer board. I don't have a lot of experience with them, but others have so they can comment further. As for a station, that's up to you. You can either join one, or just do it on your own. If you're only broadcasting for a couple hours a week, I can't see anyone coming after you and making you pay out the nose. I think Plantronics made a dual channel headset meant for transcription and the like. The only trouble I see is adapting the second source to use the telephone headset type plug, think those headsets used some sort of modular plug that I've never found on any telephone. Labeling files before burning in Nero
Hello again, I can burn a CD with Nero 5 and Jaws 7.1. But now...How do I get the song title and artist put into the track info? As per the help file in Nero, it says to go into the properties of the song, and put in the information. Went into the properties but the PC Cursor does not see anything, and the Jaws cursor finds the fields but will not allow me to insert information. I have tried this in the Summary Tab. These are songs I have on computer,but not copied from another CD. Any thoughts? I heard headphone mixers existed, not sure how expensive though. I heard of those on a disability website, where you plug the headphones in and then 2 other sources and have them one on each side. Some of the info on there is outdated, so not sure if they're still manufactured. Winamp and Win Media
Hey list, A friend of mine has been having some problems. She just installed Winamp. Windows Media, however, is still taking over and playing MP3 files. I had her go into the preferences and select all the filetypes for Winamp and that didn't help. Even having Winamp up and running, Windows Media still played the song. Is there anyone out there who's experienced this who can suggest more options? I was having the same problem. Windowsmedia wanted to play mp3 files. So I re-installed Winamp making sure I had all it's file types checked. Now it's okay. Except that I now can't get Windowsmedia to play radio stations that have WMA files. And neither does Winamp play those even though WMA was listed in it's file types. More suggestions? Thank you. If you can afford to upgrade to v6 all you need to do is check cd text and it wil be done.
