Re: MLB.com archives
hi mark, i've had a good play this morning using the annerheim v texas feed from last nights game, using the texas (krld) gameday audio feed. i cannot whatever i do get real player to open apart from as an embedded player. if i right click in the embedded player i get a context menu, but no option seems useful. it's got things like "open link in new window" etc. if i click in another part of the window i get something similar but the first option is simply "open", which appears to do nothing but freeze the player. i can't get any of the graphic i find using the jaws cursor to do anything. nothing i do seems to get to a point where i can force realplayer to open itself, or that gives me any way of skipping through the archive. email or msn [EMAIL PROTECTED] cheers - kevin - Original Message - From: "Marco Curralejo" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: MLB.com archives
Well, just as a note, I was able to bring up the archive only in Windows Media and could find the buttons to make it work with a little work, but not too much. I'm using would assume this will work with either screen reader, but not sure. Did not have time to try to bring up the game in Real Player, but will try when I have more time. An important note, I could only bring up the archive in Windows Media even though I've selected Real Player as my method of choice. The audio really is better. I've done that, but Jaws speech and WinAmp output are on the same control. I've set the volume inside WinAmp to max but Jaws still over powers the music. At 09:10 PM 4/10/04, you wrote: Hello Tony, I recently installed the same sound card, and the same thing happened to me. So I just opened my windows volume control, and found that the controls were all set to 80. In Window Eyes, that means that the setting is quite low, so to achieve maximum volume, I set all the levels to 0, and that took care of the problem. Hope it helps. Re: MLB.com archives
well, i had a play around with the imbeded player today, and every stream that i played with that was archived opens up in windows media and it appears that there is no way of flicking through the game. you are right tim. when a stream opens up in an imbeded player using real player, you can flick through the program no problems, but it appears to me that you can't do it with the windows media version of this. rather annoying. also, if you look on the mlb.tv side of the mlb.com website, which is what i use, it quite clearly states when your logging into watch a live or archived match that all live streams can be opened up in either windows media or real player, but that all archives will only play through windows media. cheers. marco. - Original Message - From: "Tim Grady" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: MLB.com archives
Your right about the Windows Media imbedded player. I think they must have been testing something when I tried it, but I did find a way to ff through games through the WMP imbedded player. Trouble is I use Window Eyes and I don't know how to explain it yet. Just like the external player though, you can only FF and not RR. - Original Message - From: "Marco Curralejo" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. copying an audio disc
Hi, I wanted to copy a music cd, rather than just selecting certain songs. I am using Easy CD Creator 6, and, first tried using the disc copier function. It reached about 50%, and, then, said there was an error. I tried again, new blank, smae result. I then went into Creator Classic, and tried from there, and, it did not work there either. I have been able to save songs to my hard drive, and, then, burn a cd without any trouble. Am I missing something here? Is there a setting I need to change, perhaps? I did update the program. Thanks. can't register for Winamp forums
I just tried to send a bug report to the Winamp forums. Have to register first but can't without sighted help. You have to enter the characters shown in a picture on the page. DRAT! The bug is: Win98se "find Files of type Winamp media". The Dialog disappears when I start the search. This only happens with Winamp files. It started after I installed Winamp 5.03. I was previously using 2.91. This happened before when I first tried 5.0. I have since reformatted my hd a few times plus I have new hardware so I know it isn't my system alone. I found a message in the forums about this same problem from one other user but the only advice given was to reinstall windows. Fat chance! I've got a clean install now. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: Cooledit pro 2.0 question?
Find your point of reference and then highlight a small section that would include your point .. Using your magnifying glass .. Plust it once or twice .. ustilize your play button after first magnification to hear your reference point. once you do this .. you should be able to see your point via the wave form. utilization of your magnifier gives you all kinds of options to delete a small section or to manipulate it in a manner for correction. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Dave Reynolds Sent: Sunday, April 11, 2004 6:18 PM To: PC audio discussion list. Re: copying an audio disc
Hi, Crystal. If you want to burn an audio cd from another, here's what you do. 1. with the original cd in your desired drive, find the list of tracks on the cd. 2. select all with control a. 3. add the tracks to the cd layout with control t. 4. From here you can do one of 2 things. You can either make a hard drive image of the cd, to burn to a blank later, or you can just write the selected tracks to the disk directly. 5. To make a hard drive image of the tracks in the new cd layout, from the file menu, choose record hard disk image, or cd image, I don't remember what exactly it calls it, but it'll be 1 in the same. 6. Hit enter when you've found the appropriate option. 7. A dialogue box will appear asking you to provide a file name. Give it what ever you want. 8. Hit enter once you've entered the desired file name, then sit back and wait a few minutes for the image to create. If everything goes well, your machine should make a noise, and your screen reader should say something in the way of image created successfully, or something like that. 9. Something to keep in mind--there are 3 options in the file menu for recording--record disk image, record disk, and record disk from image. Be careful not to confuse those. 10. To record a cd from an image you've created, choose the record disk from image option in the file menu. The program will prompt you for the name of the image file. Type it in or choose it from the list view in the dialogue box which you can find by tabbing around. When you've selected the file you want, hit enter. Make sure, at this point, that you have a blank cd in your burner. 11. A record disk dialogue box will pop up. Heres where you choose the write speed and the recording method. The write speed depends on your preference, but the recording method should be set for disk at once, for best audio quality, and you also want to choose the option to record, not test or test and record, unless you want to test the recording to make sure it'll work, then you'd use the test and record option. When you have everything there set the way you want, hit the ok button and wait a few minutes for the disk to burn. unless you have a bad disk, or your burner screws up somehow, you should have a perfect disk within about 5 to 10 minutes. 12. Now, if you want to by-pass the image process and go straight to burnin the selected tracks from your layout onto a blank disk, once you have the tracks selected, choose the record disk option from the file menu. Hit enter. The dialogue box described above will appear. Again, make sure you have a blank cd in your burner. Repeat the previously mentioned steps. Good luck. If you're still confused or have trouble, let me know, and I'll be glad to help you. Shane At 03:20 PM 4/11/2004, you wrote: Hi, I wanted to copy a music cd, rather than just selecting certain songs. WDM driver needed
Hello, It is my understanding that installing a WDM driver will sometimes cause a sound card which is not multi channel to function as if it were multi channel. I therefore want to locate and install a WDM driver for my HP 4150-A laptop in hopes of being able to use software speech while doing other things requiring the sound card. Can anyone suggest where I can get such a driver and also please tell me how to install it. I would be happy to try to find something at driverguide.com; unfortunately, that site requires that you identify the characters in a graphic. So I would appreciate suggestions from others on this list. Thanks in advance. Well, I'm not sure anybody reads these but, I've been able to FF and RW through archive games at MLB.com but they only come up in Windows Media. I just used the graphics labeler in Window-eyes, did a find command for the buttons I wanted, routed the mouse pointer did a left click and it worked. The only trouble I had was re-locating some of the graphics after I had used them a few times. It didn't work well, but I did get it to work. Making Cds With XP
Hello, I am having a rather strange problem when I attempt to make audio cds using the facility in Windows XP home edition. The cd comes out fine except for a pop at the end of the recording. This pop isn't heard when I play the wav files that I record on the cd. Does anyone on this list know how to record cds under XP that don't have that offending pop at the end?
