[Elisa] [Bug 470884] New: Elisa player can't play playlist radio streams (.pls, .m3u)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470884 Bug ID: 470884 Summary: Elisa player can't play playlist radio streams (.pls, .m3u) Classification: Applications Product: Elisa Version: 23.04.2 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr Reporter: sunny.bed7...@fastmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Several internet radio stations offer a playlist file as the resource used to tune to their stream. These are unusable in Elisa at the moment. Streams that I have confirmed work with Elisa come in the form of MPEG ADTS > checking the file format of a stream saved to disk $ curl -o out 'https://radiointernet.co:7000' $ file out out: MPEG ADTS, layer III, v1, 32 kbps, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo Streams that do not work with Elisa are playlists $ curl -o airout 'http://airspectrum.cdnstream1.com:8114/1648_128.m3u' $ file airout airout: ASCII text, with CRLF line terminators >airout content http://airspectrum.cdnstream1.com:8114/1648_128 $ curl -o pls 'http://79.98.108.170:8117/listen.pls?sid=1' $ file pls pls: PLS playlist, ASCII text >pls content [playlist] NumberOfEntries=1 File1=http://79.98.108.170:8117/stream Title1=Extreme Deep House Radio Length1=-1 Version=2% If you manually add the url of the internal playlist entry, now you can play that radio station. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add the following radio stations to Elisa: http://airspectrum.cdnstream1.com:8114/1648_128.m3u http://79.98.108.170:8117/listen.pls?sid=1 https://radiointernet.co:7000 2. Play each added radio station.play in Elisa. OBSERVED RESULT Elisa should not be able to play the first two radio stations. The last radio station should work fine. If you extract the real audio streams out of the playlists, you should be able to stream them with Elisa. EXPECTED RESULT Elisa plays all of the most common radio stream formats (playlist or pure audio stream) out of the box. [systemsettings] [Bug 435113] certain mouse settings resets after restart/resume from suspend/dock/undock
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435113 Dave changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dav...@gmail.com --- Comment #112 from Dave --- I see this is fixed in 5.24.7 (and I'm still running 5.24.6-r2 on Gentoo), so I'm just adding this here as another test-case: unplugging and re-plugging a mouse does the same thing. I currently run a polling bash script to reset with xinput (`sudo udevadm trigger -s input` has no effect for me). This sounds minor, but unfortunately, my regular mouse is a SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless, which only has about 80 hours battery life when running full-tilt, so I have to disconnect/reconnect at least once (often a couple of times) per week to charge. However, I can also repro with my g305, simply unplugging the usb dongle and plugging back in again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457928 Dave changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dav...@gmail.com --- Comment #3 from Dave --- I have the same experience with any of my mice. It's particularly annoying because one of them is a SteelSeries Aerox Wireless 3, which, in an effort to save weight, requires fairly frequent charging. Every time I unplug the dongle to use the cord to charge (and keep the mouse useful), or when I reverse this, I have this experience. [Powerdevil] [Bug 435754] New: Keyboard backlight does not turn back on after opening laptop lid if it was already on before closing the lid.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435754 Bug ID: 435754 Summary: Keyboard backlight does not turn back on after opening laptop lid if it was already on before closing the lid. Product: Powerdevil Version: 5.20.5 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: fishnet37...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P72 with Gentoo Linux installed on it. In KDE's power management settings, I have the keyboard brightness enabled and set to the maximum for when the AC adapter is connected. If I close the lid and then re-open it, the keyboard backlight remains off. I also have it configured to do nothing when the lid is closed with the AC adapter connected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable the keyboard backlight in the Power Management settings. 2. Close the laptop lid. 3. After a couple seconds, open the lid again. OBSERVED RESULT Keyboard backlight remains off. EXPECTED RESULT Keyboard backlight respects the Power Management configuration. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Gentoo Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I can work around the issue by installing acpid and having it configured to turn the backlight back on when the lid is opened, but I don't believe I should have to. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Hardware: - CPU: Intel i7-6700HQ - GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M Software: - KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.4 - KDE Frameworks Version: 5.72.0 - Qt Version: 5.15.0 - Kernel Version: 5.8.0-1-MANJARO GPU Driver: video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-440xx-prime I can confirm this. My laptop is currently using the Intel-NVIDIA GPU hybrid hardware configuration. Even after following the guide on KDE's community wiki, it would work until the login screen (SDDM). After logging in, everything froze; the screen went black and the mouse cursor went unresponsive. Upon checking the "Info Center" application, and in the "Graphics" section; the driver used was the Mesa driver (for Intel). Optimus did not work with Wayland, but I ran it anyway in the terminal; it gave the error "the active card is Intel, but it should be NVIDIA". Could this issue be isolated with only the Intel-NVIDIA GPU hybrid configuration? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[skrooge] [Bug 412360] All items entered are gone
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412360 --- Comment #21 from Dave --- Well after the successful installation of 2.20.0 on my wifes computer earlier today this evening l made a back up copy of my current Skrooge files on a removable usb. I verified all was there then took the USB out of my computer.I then proceeded with the process you sent (below) to remove the program and reinstall however when completed l still had the 2.15.0 version.I then thought of all the previous attempts and different formats l had previously tried to update the program. I had downloaded flatpac, tar balls and the PPA's you had given me months ago and l began to think that maybe there was still a hidden version somewhere on the computer that it kept loading giving me the 2.15.0 again.I then removed all of the files in my computer that had any connection to the Skrooge program..removed all previous back ups, any files stored in Documents, checked my Download files, User files Temp files and could not locate any more Skrooge related files.I then proceed to once again follow the instructions you had provided and when completed the Skrooge program was still there in the 2.15.0 version all intact with my files still in place.I was assuming it would have resulted in a clean install with a blank document to which l was going to add the files l had saved onto the USB.I am so frustrated after having the installation go so well on my wifes computer. What can you suggest that l do to remove all traces of the 2.15.0 ? Is there possibly a complete system scan that l can perform to find any files that may be hidden deeper in the computer?I can continue with my daily business using my wifes computer but that would be inconvenient for both of us.Dave On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 10:02:37 a.m. EDT, Stephane MANKOWSKI wrote: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412360 --- Comment #13 from Stephane MANKOWSKI --- Oups, my fault: You just have to do that: sudo apt remove skrooge* sudo add-apt-repository ppa:s-mankowski/ppa-kf5 sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install skrooge-kf5 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412360 --- Comment #22 from Dave --- Since my last email and having removed (I believe) every file associated with the previous version 2.15.0 l had gone to my Package Manager as you had previously mentioned and selected the installation of the program using the Flathub.org installation. All looked promising until the end of the install as you can see in the attached copy of my terminal.I was left with the Skrooge icon in my "Office" file and when i selected it there was an image of the new Skrooge label that read it was the 2.20.0 version which looked good..but it would not load the program. This is the last attempt l have made as evidenced by the screenshot of the terminal and l am again hoping you may offer a solution.RegardsDave On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 01:44:56 p.m. EDT, Stephane MANKOWSKI wrote: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412360 --- Comment #20 from Stephane MANKOWSKI --- Yes in settings -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412360 --- Comment #10 from Dave --- Ok l understand now..l guess the thing that happened was because l loaded the Skrooge program yesterday from the software manager on my wifes computer l believed it was a more recent version than the one l have on my computer mine being 2.15.0 and hers 2.11.0.The most recent version according to the skrooge.org web site is a 2.20.0.. what would be the best way to update the current versions on both computers ensuring they are properly deposited in the appropriate directories .The software manager, though easy to use, is not providing the most current stable versions l desire and l am not well versed in the required procedure to use the terminal. You can open a document saved with a version of skrooge <= your current version of skrooge. It means that: - You can open a document saved with Skrooge 1.0 with Skrooge 2.15.0 - You can open a document saved with Skrooge 2.11.0 with Skrooge 2.15.0 - You can NOT open a document saved with Skrooge 2.15.0 with Skrooge 1.0 - You can NOT open a document saved with Skrooge 2.15.0 with Skrooge 2.11.0 This is the same with all other applications: - Microsoft Money 3.0 is not able to open a file saved with Money 2007 - World 6.0 is not able to open a document saved with Word 2019 So, if you install Skrooge 2.15.0 (or higher), you will be able to open all documents created before. [kwin] [Bug 415591] New: Multi-monitor QT applications window sizing inconsistencies
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415591 Bug ID: 415591 Summary: Multi-monitor QT applications window sizing inconsistencies Product: kwin Version: 5.17.4 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: devddu...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I’ve been using Plasma for a couple of days now and I noticed some strange window sizing issues. It seems like QT application windows don’t respect window size changes when dealing with a my multi-monitor setup. If I open a QT application on my center or right monitor and resize the window, close the application and open it again the window size will never persist. Only the left monitor retains window size changes (however Kate is an exception). Strangely enough this problem never occurs when dealing with GTK applications. I’ve found three cases related to this issue: Case 1, Ark and Okular: These two applications always copy over the window size that was last changed on the left monitor. In other words if I change the window size on the center or right monitor the window size never changes. It always reverts back to the last window size that was set on the left monitor. Example Ark: https://youtu.be/uK9Rh5DG2Nw Example Okular: https://youtu.be/uYCmiDxNnN8 Case 2, Kate: Kate varies a little from the previous case. When the application is opened and the window size is changed on the left monitor there are again no problems. If the application is opened and closed on either the center or right monitor and the opened again the window size is reset to the small default size. Example: https://youtu.be/3o_g-wbbNow Case 3, Gnote and Celluloid: These two applications always retain the change window size, regardless of what monitor the window size was changes on. This is what I would consider intended behavior. Example Gnote: https://youtu.be/pCq2UyrLK4I Example Celluloid: https://youtu.be/cjw4-zsiHb0 STEPS TO REPRODUCE Varies from case but usually goes something like this: 1. Open application on center monitor (having a multi-monitor setup). 2. Resize the application window. 3. Close the application. 4. Open the same application again. 5. Observe that the window size has not persisted. OBSERVED RESULT Kate, Ark and Okular do not persist window size changes if those changes were made on either my center or right monitors. EXPECTED RESULT The expected result is the same as how the GTK based applications currently behave, as shown in the video example. Basically if I open an application on my center monitor and resize it, then close the application and then open it again the window size should be persisted. I’ve provided some general information below. If anyone requires any logs, config files or other information, please let me know. [kwin] [Bug 415591] Multi-monitor QT applications window sizing inconsistencies
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415591 --- Comment #1 from Dave --- > "Only the left monitor retains window size changes (however Kate is an > exception)." Ignore the comment about Kate being an exception in the summary. What I meant to say was that Kate's window size always resets when it is opened, closed and then opened again on either the center or right monitor. Kate is a different case seeing as Ark and Okular always copy over the window size last set on the left monitor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
