[plasmashell] [Bug 501436] Icons in hidden view feel too large
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501436 --- Comment #16 from Nate Graham --- It's something we would need to address — if it's decided that it's worth addressing — in our icon loader implementation(In reply to varlesh from comment #15) > The key word here is "only". Because if on icon theme available > "foo-symbolic" 22px and "foo" 32px icons - the "foo-symbolic" icon will > still be used for hidden menu, ignoring the dimensions and scaling the icon > from 22px to 32px size. Oh, I see what you mean now. This does seem like an issue. Can you please open a bug report about this specifically in frameworks-kiconthemes? Thanks a lot! > You haven't answered the question why not just add a fixed and scalable size > option for the hidden menu? It solves a lot of problems! Because it would be over-configurability. If there, why not also in every other place where icons are shown, too? If it's a feature request, describe the thing that you want to be able to do, that you currently can't do. Several different things could possibly be asked for on this topic - all of which, if implemented, would kind of get after the general comment that you referenced, but lead to different results: ex. "I would like to be able to click on a widget, or use a keyboard shortcut, to reset the dividing line between Quick Tiled windows to the 50-50 default" or "I would like Quick Tiling to 'snap' to pre-defined suggested proportions, including 50-50, 67-33 and 75-25" or "I would like Quick Tiling to 'forget' the current dividing line between windows, once no windows are in a Quick Tiled state" or "I would like to be able to toggle on/off whether Quick Tiling remembers the dividing line between windows, once no windows are in a Quick Tiled state" etc. I personally don't think requests about the topic are worthless at all - they just need to be written clearly, specific, and actionable so they can be evaluated. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This also means that for apps that I had previously pinned to the task manager, the button always behaves as if the app is closed, i.e. starting a new instance. This applies for GTK apps, both from system (i.e. Firefox and Thunderbird from deb repository) and from flatpak (for example re.sonny.tangram). The only exception I could find is Gimp, which appear correctly. Inkscape segfaults immediately on start. These GTK apps also do not register with the "Application Title Bar" plasmoid, which remains blank. [kwin] [Bug 498015] Monitor brightness reverts to 0% when reconnected and whenever HDR is enabled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=498015 --- Comment #5 from naohosh...@protonmail.com --- As of the latest OpenSUSE updated, I'm on version 6.3.2 - since this update things have improved slightly, but brightness still doesn't appear to be functioning correctly. But to answer the questions from your comment: > If you change the brightness in Plasma, does the monitor brightness change as > well? (with HDR and without are different, please test both) Changing brightness in Plasma changes the monitor brightness, and this seems to be the case both with and without HDR. > Please turn HDR off, set brightness to 100% on the monitor and in Plasma, > then run > killall org_kde_powerdevil; WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 /usr/libexec/org_kde_powerdevil > 2>1 | grep brightness > and enable HDR, and then paste the output of that command here. Unfortunately this command just hangs on my system and doesn't provide any output. > Afterwards, if you put POWERDEVIL_NO_DDCUTIL=1 into /etc/environment and > reboot, does the issue still happen? May be something is doing blocking I/O for clipboard operations on the plasmashell side? The very, very small faces were removed. They must > have contained ancient data. > I'll be more careful now. > Does it make sense to remove all unknown faces and rescan all photos? > > Regards > Andy Hi Andy, It looks like you used a Face Size setting of Small or Extra-Small. If you rescan the images with a setting of Large or Extra Large it will remove the tiny faces automatically. If you've already tagged/confirmed the faces you want in the image, then use Extra Large and digiKam will remove most of the face rectangles automatically. [Discover] [Bug 501491] New: Shows "Applications cannot be loaded" on start page for Devuan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501491 Bug ID: 501491 Summary: Shows "Applications cannot be loaded" on start page for Devuan Classification: Applications Product: Discover Version: 6.3.2 Platform: Debian unstable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: PackageKit Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: mar...@lichtvoll.de CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Plasma Discover shows "Applications cannot be loaded, please check your internet connection" (translated from German language) on start page. Network is of course fully operational. I believe this issue is related to lack of support of the distribution I chose: Devuan. As terminal output indicates this might be related to downstream projects PackageKit and AppStream: I am willing to report issues for these downstream projects and reference them here. If you have a little advice on how to do that in a way that is most helpful, please share. Otherwise I try to look for their bug trackers myself and report in any way I see fit. But maybe you have some helpful tips. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run Plasma Discover on Devuan Ceres. OBSERVED RESULT "Applications cannot be loaded, please check your internet connection" on start page. In Konsole output: […] PackageKitBackend: No distro component found for "org.devuan.devuan" […] AppStreamIntegration: No distro component found for "org.devuan.devuan" EXPECTED RESULT Works on Devuan which is basically just a fork of Debian with another init system than Systemd. Also for the error message: Gives a meaningful error message. This is certainly not about a non working internet connection. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501446 --- Comment #2 from thibaul...@proton.me --- Ah, it seems you've found the problem. Kwin was still at version 6.2.5, because the window decorations I was using (klassy) were not updated to 6.3.x, and thus required the old libkdecorations2 shared lib. Removed klassy, and force-upgraded kwin to the latest version and it all works now. Thanks for the help. While that's fixed, my original bug report still seems valid in the sense that powerdevil should not unconditionally fail when the Wayland connection cannot be established. For example, it handles just fine the fact my battery has no charge thresholds that can be user-settable. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501547 Bug Janitor Service changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |UNMAINTAINED Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #1 from Bug Janitor Service --- Thank you for the bug report! Debian advises users to not submit bugs upstream (https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting), and Plasma 5.27.5 is no longer eligible for support or maintenance from KDE. It's possible that the issue exists only in Debian at this point. Could you report the bug to Debian using the report bug utility (https://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/reportbug)? If necessary, the maintainer of the package will forward the bug upstream. Thanks for understanding! Thanks again! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
