[Bug 1515829] Re: Gimp tooltip text color is white on white

2015-11-22 Thread antonio
A work around to this problem is explained in the following link:
http://www.iwillfolo.com/how-to-change-gtk-apps-tooltips-text-and-background-color/

The problem seems to be some incompatibility as explained in that page, as per
quote below:
"When utilizing a desktop environment other than GNOME, or when using a
non-default theme in GNOME-shell itself, you may often encounter
incompatibilities which are mostly reflected through native GTK apps such as
GIMP, Nautilus, Totem, etc…"

The solution explained there about modifying file "~/.gtkrc-2.0" worked
for me.

[Bug 150917] Re: GTK errors installing and using Netbeans 6 beta 1

2010-03-18 Thread Antonio
It now works properly, at least in my case:

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.8 (Build 200912041610)
Java: 1.6.0_15; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 14.1-b02
System: Linux version 2.6.31-20-generic running on i386; UTF-8; es_ES (nb)

I guess the status of this bug should be updated.

[Bug 522077] [NEW] Suspend/Resume problems in 9.10 for Compaq nx6110

2010-02-15 Thread Antonio
Public bug reported:

Hello.

Laptop Compaq nx6110; 9.10 newly installed, no upgrade; metacity; no
visual effects; Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express
Graphics Controller (rev 03)

I have several issues and symptons:

1. I had no issues in 9.04.

2. Suspend works properly if invoked from indicator-applet-session.

3. Suspend fails if invoked with fn hotkey (even if keyboard is properly
configured to suspend on XF86Sleep) and instead I get a black screen.

4. At closing lid it eventually does nothing, get a black screen and/or
launchs firefox (sometimes after opening lid I have found the desktop
with dozens of firefox instances), at that very moment and eventually
during the lifetime of the sessión, sometimes its very annoying and I am
forced to reboot.

5. Suspend works properly even with fn hotkey in log-on screen, but once
in gnome session it misbehaves.

6. tty term sessión are unreachable at any time, I get a black screen
instead.

7. Resume fails and I get a blank screen with no way to return the x session. I
must restart. I have found a 3 step
workaround to this: once in black screen after resuming, (1) go to x sessión
with ctrl+alt+f7, (2) go to any tty term session with ctrl+alt+f1 (for
instance), (3) again go to x sessión with ctrl+alt+f7 and you are back.

#4 above, update

It had to be with fn hotkey XF86Display which was attached to 'Launch
firefox' in keyboad shortcuts preference. I had configured that. Once
set XF86Display to 'do nothing' this multiple firefox launch does not
happen anymore. Anyway I believe this is still a bug related to keyboard
hotkeys, whith previous configuration firefox should only be launched at
keyboard event, not at closing lid event.

#7 above, update

It may be ignore step 1 in the workaround provided. Furthermore, instead
of black screen I eventually get a basic term logon screen than anyway
it does not respond to any event. It just displays:

Ubuntu 9.10 hostname ttyX

hostname login:

[Bug 312511] [NEW] Master channel fails in Ubuntu 8.10

2008-12-30 Thread Antonio
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager

Ubuntu 8.10 just installed in HP Compaq nx6110, audio card Intel
Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller
(rev 03).

Setting master channel to 0% does not completely silence (very low
sound, but not silence) unless PCM is also set to 0% (or muted). In the
same way, setting 0% on PCM does not completely silence unless Master is
also at 0% or muted. Muting on both channels is working.

Tried mostly with Device Intel ICH6 (Alsa mixer), but also happens with
the others.

This did not happen in a previous installation of Kubuntu 8.10 in this
same laptop.

This is the only issue with sound I have detected in my installation up
to now, the rest is working fine.

[Bug 272477] Re: yelp crashed with SIGSEGV in strlen()

2009-01-06 Thread Antonio
I have solved this bug.
The error it is in function "search_clean_snippet" when search single word in
this while chicle:

while ((str = strstr (result, (iteration[i] {
gboolean breaking = FALSE;
gint i;
str = strstr (str, (iteration[i]));
if (!str) {
breaking = TRUE;
break;
}
}

first of all I have changed the variable i with k, and I have add the control
in end iterator, that was the problem.

while ((str = strstr (result, (iteration[i] {
gboolean breaking = FALSE;
gint k;
for (k=0; k< count; k++) {
str++;
if(iteration[k] ==NULL){
breaking = TRUE;
break;
}
str = strstr (str, (iteration[k]));
if (!str) {
breaking = TRUE;
break;
}
}

[Bug 1065523] Re: Doesn't read the user ssh config

2012-11-09 Thread Antonio
I have the same problem in Ubuntu 12.10. I've set up a proxy in my .ssh/config
file, it works on the command line but is ignored if I try to use it in
nautilus.
If I'm not mistaken nautilus uses gvfs as a backend to mount remote filesystem,
dunno if gvfs is supposed to read the ssh configuration file at all so this
would turn the bug into a feature request.
As a workaround I'm using sshfs to mount the remote filesystem, looks like it
reads the .ssh/config file correctly, it can be found in the repository.

[Bug 401497] Re: wrong keyboard layout after upgrade with autologin

2009-11-17 Thread Antonio
I confirm this bug on a clean karmic installation. It happens at every
reboot, not using autologin.

The requested output before setting the correct layout back again from
the USA to IT:

$ grep X /etc/default/console-setup
# values as the XkbModel, XkbLayout, XkbVariant and XkbOptions options
# in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="it"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS="grp:alts_toggle"
$

$ cat /home/anto/.dmrc /var/cache/gdm/`id -un`/dmrc

[Bug 401497] Re: wrong keyboard layout after upgrade with autologin

2009-11-17 Thread Antonio
In my case, the command proposed by Alkis Georgopoulos

gconftool-2 --type list --list-type string --set
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/layouts '[us,it]'

fixes the problem for the current session but the problem appears again
after reboot.

I can also fix the problem for the current session deleting the USA
layout in the keyboard preferences. Note that, in the keyboard
preference the IT layout is correctly set, but not working unless I
delete the USA layout.

[Bug 35229] Re: totem-xine crash on logo (workaround inside)

2006-06-06 Thread Antonio Amaro
Great Fix: scaling down image. This way totem-xine works fine and I don't loose
the original look of it.
I've used Gimp.

I've notice one thing, before trying this fix: is that totem din't crash
if I opened it in any second-user-login.

So it seems to me that is an hardware management issue. That thing about "video
RAM" said on top fits with this.
I hope this comment helps fiding the video bug.

[Bug 32566] Re: Totem Crashes on Certain .mpg Files

2006-06-09 Thread Antonio Amaro
I've noticed that too.

Totem crashes with .mpg fifes riped with AcidRip maybe cause it uses
MPlayer encoding libs (or mencode if you prefer).

Works fine with other .mpg files.

I've not tried yet but I thing it hapens with files encoded with
subtitels apart (in other file) an option of AcidRip that may be a good
idea if you are going to edit the file with other tools But it seems to
bug Totem that doesn't suport subtitels.

(sory the poor english)

Keep the good work!

[Bug 41099] Re: [dapper][totem-xine] when I try to change connection speed it crashes

2006-06-09 Thread Antonio Amaro
Some fixes are needed for Totem.

Have you done the fix of changing the name of the logo file of Totem?
Because Totem crashes at star users are changing the name of the logo file to
extention .old so that Totem doesn't start with it or change the resolution of
the image (lower) for Totem not to crash at starting.

The problem is that if you do so Totem crashes at conetion speed.

One "workaround" goes to another :-(

Reinstall totem-xine...
So it crashes at the begining! But everything else works. You can open files in
nautilus calling totem.
Meanwille, I hope too, the first bug will be propelly fixed, and the second one
will exist no more.

(sory the poor english)
Keep the good work.

[Bug 839965] [NEW] Screen brightness levels won't scale correctly

2011-09-02 Thread José Antonio
Public bug reported:

When I press the key to lower the screen brightness it immediately turns
the screen brightness to minimum but when I hit the key to increase the
screen brightness it turn my screen to 1/10 of it's maximum brightness
(my /sys/class/backlight offers 10 levels of brightness), thought if I
keep the increase brightness key pressed for a couple of seconds it
turns the screen brightness to maximum (it won't be able to scale with
the other screen brightness levels, it goes straight to maximum).
Interestingly though when I use Fedora 15 (older distributions of Fedora
won't work) brightness levels work just fine, so I think this used to be
a gnome-settings-daemon bug corrected with the release of gnome 3.

[Bug 1725697] [NEW] Logging in after suspend/resume gives two login screens

I'm using Ubuntu 17.10 (upgraded from 17.04) on a Dell XPS 13. When I
try to log in after suspend/resume I input my password which then takes
me to another login screen. On that login screen I'm unable to type
anything, resulting in me having to do a hard reset in order to log back
in.

I used the search tool but it doesn't told me that there was another
post.

You can close this bug if you want. I'll read if that's going to be
fixed and if not I'll come back to the LTS version.

Thanks anyway

[Bug 1026254] Re: Open with on folders was removed, Ubuntu should consider patching back

2015-03-21 Thread Daniel Antonio
The only way to solve this problem is install "pcmanfm" and run:

 xdg-mime default pcmanfm.desktop inode/directory

This solution worked for me, because I have my main folders as .desktop
entries in the Unity dash.

[Bug 1153488] Re: Treats bluetooth input device batteries as batteries

2015-07-13 Thread Antonio Rosales
I am also seeing this on Ubuntu 15.10 with a ThinkPad Wireless Bluetooth
Keyboard. Specifically, my ThinkPad keyboard is being detected as a
system battery. This is concerning as the system is a Desktop with no
battery. Since the wireless keyboard is being detected as a keyboard
Power Manager is set to shut the system down when my wireless keyboard
power gets low.

[Bug 1428417] Re: Nautilus(and Nemo too) cannot Mount if mount option is noauto/user and the mount point has non-western character

2015-10-31 Thread Antonio Marra
I've exactly the same bug in my Ubuntu 15.10. It seems related to
mount/umount commands, since mount mounts fstab entries marked as
"user", while umount cannot unmount the same entries.

[Bug 1737394] [NEW] Systemd causing shutdown to hang

2017-12-10 Thread Antonio Roberts
Public bug reported:

 1
down vote
favorite

I have Ubuntu 17.10 installed on a Dell XPS 15 using Nvidia proprietary
drivers (384.98). The shutdown process can sometimes take up to ten
minutes and sometimes not shutdown at all.

I used a camera to record the shutdown messages as I couldn't see
anything in the logs:

wlp2s0: deauthenticating from 90:21:06:96:c2:d1 by local choice (Reason:
3=DEAUTH_LEAVING)
systemd-shutdow: 33 output lines suppressed due to ratelimiting
systemd-shutdown[1]: Sending SIGTERM to remaining processes...
systemd-journald[332]: Received SIGTERM from PID 1 (systemd-shutdow).
systemd-shutdown[1]: Sending SIGKILL to remaining processes...
systemd-shutdown[1]: Unmounting file systems.
systemd-shutdown[1]: Remounting '/' read-only with options

EXT4-fs (nvme0n1p1): remounted. Opts: errors=remount-ro,data=ordered
systemd-shutdown[1]: Remounting '/' read-only with options
'errors=remount-ro,data=ordered'.
EXT4-fs (nvme0n1p1): remounted. Opts: errors=remount-ro,data=ordered
systemd-shutdown[1]: All filesystems unmounted.
systemd-shutdown[1]: Deactivating swaps.
systemd-shutdown[1]: All swaps deactivated.
systemd-shutdown[1]: Detaching loop devices.

kvm: exiting hardware virtualization
psmouse serio1: Failed to disable mouse on isa0060/serio1
reboot: Restarting system
reboot: machine restart
ACPI MEMORY or I/O RESET_REG.

The major hang appears after wlp2s0 deauthenticates, and the first
systemd-shutdow message takes up to 10 minutes to appear.

Is this a systemd problem? What could be causing the 33 output lines to
be suppressed?

[Bug 1241101] Re: Java crash in libglib-2.0 after upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10

2014-02-19 Thread Antonio Ferraro
I have my own RCP application, built with Eclipse Helios, for multiple
platforms. The problem happens for me when I test the application build
for Linux x86-gtk. Platform: Kubuntu 13.10 (virtualbox machine), JRE:
1.6u45. I get the crash while I use the preference pages and hit the OK
button. No .log is found in workspace/.metadata, just the
hs_err_pid.log in the app install directory.

The Solaris sparc/intel and win32/64 builds of the app work fine in
Solaris, and so does the linuxx86_64 when tested on CentOS 6.3.

The GTK workaround (System Settings/Application Appearance/GTK/Gtk2
theme Raleigh) works for my application, after a reboot of the VM. But I
do not like this as the look and feel is somewhat old fashioned and not
in line with the rest of the system.

However, and this is my contribution to this discussion, when I run the
application from the command line as root, with sudo , the
problem disappears (has anybody tried?). I then thought that it may have
been caused by some missing file access permissions and temporarily
gave full access to the whole workspace directory but the problem
reappeared, so it is not connected to permissions on the workspace. Also
for me the hs_errxxx.pid point to libgobject-2.0.s0.0+0x16bfe

[Bug 1242678]

2016-01-16 Thread Antonio Ospite
Created attachment 120955
This files result eventually in a pixman crash

Hi,

this rotation issue seems to be also causing a crash in pixman in some
cases:

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87588

I am attaching a file which makes the crash reproducible here.

BTW another test-case for the invalid rotation is the output of
kxbprint, reproducible like this:

  xkbprint :0.0 keyboard.ps
  evince keyboard.ps

The latter sometimes crashes and sometimes don't, at least on my system.

Ciao ciao,
   Antonio

2010-02-04 Thread Antonio Lopez
Running Mythbuntu 9.10 (amd64):

- Autologin behaves randomly but when I have to manually login it never
takes more than three attempts.

- Using Intel graphics driver (GMA X4500), so no Nvidia exclusivity
here.

- xorg.conf presence (or not) makes no difference at all.

- Resolution seldom changes to the wrong value.

[Bug 500121] Re: non accedo a youtube

2009-12-31 Thread Antonio Litterio
Delio writes:
"I'm not able to access on internet page www.youtube.com.
The PC is connect to internet with an sitecom access point (in wireless
manner), because if I connect directly (with cable) I'm not able to access to
internet."

I think that this isn't gnome-nettool bug, but the network manager
problem maybe with DNS. I will write this to him.

Regards
