incorrectly claim that the current (Lenny) version is 6-07-4 while 6-12-1 is 
the version that was
finally shipped with Lenny. This is confusing and also means that the links 
under the "Download"
table are all broken. Oddly, the package search page

does display the correct version number (6-12-1).

Will conditionals as [CN:...] still be used/required?

What dialect (TC resp. SC) do you suggest for committed files? Both is
probably not possible or requires that the build system is extented to
either support a file name suffix to recognize the dialect or a WML
tag such as #use debian::chinese::Traditional_Chinese.

"Tiếng Việt" is now considered correct. We used to use "Việt"  
instead because it was shorter, but our vocabulary is still evolving

I requested this information already some time ago but haven't edited
template/debian/languages.wml and template/debian/language_names.wml yet,
especially as it wasn't required to provide the translated Release Notes.

The bug should be fixed. Reopen if not.

Tested with lang=fr, no problem as well.

Please check there is no transparent proxy or something between
packages.d.o and your host.

我不明白，为什么还死抱着 GB2312/Big5 不放手，直接使用 UTF-8 不好吗？
sc <=> tc 应该只转换内容，不应该多此一举的转换到过时的编码。

There is a mistake in the architecture list
"Sun SPARC (sparc), HP Alpha (alpha), Motorola/IBM PowerPC (powerpc),

mipsel), ARM (arm, armel), IBM S/390 (s390), and AMD64 and Intel EM64T
(amd64)"

Intel IA-32 (i386) => Intel x86 (i386)

Vern Sun 的考虑是：如果使用 GB2312/BIG5 编码，是可以直接知道该文档编码是
简体或者繁体，进而知道是否需要先进行简繁转换再编码转换。而 UTF-8 本身是
两者都可以同时存在的。

不过，使用 UTF-8 应该仍然可以知道当前的汉字是简体还是繁体，而且可以省去编
码转换步骤，所以应该不成问题。

Moreover, when posting to international mailing lists, please prefer
using English so that non-Chinese speaker can follow.

To non-Chinese speakers: the above discussion is a concern about using
UTF-8 might lead to premature encoding conversion where converting
Traditional Chinese characters to GB2312 will result in failure, as
UTF-8 can hold both character sets.  This is a valid concern, but
shouldn't be a problem if checking the character set is done before
hand, and if possible, there will be no need to do encoding conversions
as UTF-8 can handle both character sets uniformly.

The ports page at

 http://www.debian.org/ports/

includes both 'Intel x86 / IA-32 ("i386")' and 'IA-64 ("ia64")', so at
least there's precedent for the release notes list.
