I am a novice sage user and am trying to get sage up and running on a Windows XP SP 3 machine. I have downloaded binary build sage-vmware-4.0.2 and vmware player 2.5.2 build-156735. The Sage verion is 4.0.2 Release 2009-06-18.
I have installed the vmware player and clicked on the sage-vmx.vmx file which starts up vmware player and shows a list of four commands, one of which is notebook. I type in notebook at the "sage login:" prompt which slightly surprises me since it sounds more like an authentication prompt. The result is that after some miscellaneous text that looks fairly reasonable I get an instruction to go to URL http://192.168.159.128 in a browser in my case Firefox 3.0.11 which I do and get an error page "Connection Interrupted.The document contains no data.The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again." I have also tried with IE 7.0 in which I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".The URL is the one in the instructions.txt.
