Of course I want to use the new Atlas, and I'll wait for it to build (but not literally for ever!) To answer Jason, there was no tuning done on building Sage-5.11 on the same machine which suggests to me that the machine type should be recognised, as how could Atlas forget in the new release an architecture it used to know about? It is (uname -a) Linux atkin 3.5.0-37-generic #58~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 10 17:48:11 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux in case that is relevant.
