This was definitely very true a year ago. Did you get any sense that this had changed when you were at the scipy conference? Last year when I was at that conference, there was a lot of talk about improving matplotlib, but I don't know whether anything came of it in the last year, perhaps because VTK/mayavi meets a lot of people's needs for 3d plotting in python. > plotting, that is pure python and works on Windows, Linux, Max OS X > [1]. If SAGElite is just the non-math parts of SAGE, then it won't be very much work, since that work is already mostly done. In fact, it's likely that it will make for *less* work for SAGE, because people who are very good at programming will use SAGElite (for the GUI interface to Python or program XXX or something, say), and will contribute back improvements. -- William --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URLs: http://sage.scipy.org/sage/ and http://modular.math.washington.edu/sage/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
