If you are interested, I also have a log file. 1) I could also not run Wubi.exe automatically, with the same error message. 2) After I launched Wubi.exe manually, it proceeded to download the ISO again. 3) Eventually, installation failed with HTTP Error 404: The requested item was not found. I am not an expert in this, but a few entries in the log file seem strange to me. Perhaps it is not relevant, but e.g. it states the wrong time zone. (It (incorrectly) deduces it from the language setting instead of from the time zone setting.) Also, how can I get the Live CD to start with Gnome 3 instead of Unity?
