Scratching beard... It really wants to be some arbitrary framework of if X do Y, shipped out of the box with some basic defaults or something. It works like trigger notes trigger ornaments, except these dongles trigger other things. I'm halfway thinking about it from the perspective of having halfway thought about this kind of thing before in a vague sort of way. I'll gnaw on it. > What about a cowbell concerto? :-P Cowbells and sousaphones and BANJOS! > But OTOH, standardizing on 4 letters doesn't sound too bad. I like the idea of throwing an algorithmic solution in here instead of all that user editable stuff. New fields in dialogs, new configuration variables, new strings to translate, new XML stuff to save and restore, all so I have more typing to do. Bah. It may be the only way, but I'm going to waste a lot of time trying to do it the easy way first. It's just more entertaining that way, and if volunteer work isn't entertaining, what's the point? :D -- D.
