The workaround I tried was to export from Rosegarden and import into Denemo via lilypond (didn't work) and MIDI (worked, but required some editing). Since editing the imported file in Denemo wasn't very comfortable I just entered the notation again from scratch. For the short folk tune that I was working on, this was an easier option. For more extensive scores, the import/export may be useful. The pitches and note lengths were all fine, but the bar lines were funny.
