Do a "netstat -r" and "netstat -nr" and see if you have a default route. You
should see something like:
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
192.100.10.192 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.192 U 1500 0 0 eth0
127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 3584 0 0 lo
0.0.0.0 192.100.10.253 0.0.0.0 UG 1500 0 0 eth0
If you can't ping other devices on your same subnet, it sounds like you don't
have a default route.
