a workaround for upgrading in presence of an NTFS partition

I too experienced the NTFS bug when upgrading RedHat 6.1.  Using fdisk
I changed the partition identifier to Windows95.  Then the
installation worked like a charm.  At first reboot I restored the NTFS
identifier on the NT partition.

Simple isn't it?  :-)
