Jay, great questions.
One of the few good things about the OutBack Skybox (I think it was that
one) was the lifting holes on the upper back corners so that a bar or pipe
could be run through making it much easier for a lift into place. Maybe for
the 300 lb batteries lifting eyes on all four top corners so that 2 bars
across the front and back could be used by 4 people to lift would be good.
Of course a mechanical lift will also do the job. I've always thought that
a battery that sits on the floor would be preferable unless subject to
flooding.
I've used different cable sizes and lengths to the extreme on my own
system, and there is a slight difference in charge between batteries but it
never gets too far out of balance. I do have one battery that gets slightly
more cycling, but that is actually what I prefer in this instance.
Remember the Aquion battery with the #12 cables and Amphenol PV connectors?
