Per the OP question: yes, ride brifters it sounds like a good setup. 
FWIW campi and Sram integrated brake shifters have shorter hoods than Shimano 
shaped levers. The campi and Sram style are also more similar in shape to each 
other, and similar in shape to brake only levers.  For me there is a sweet spot 
for bar setup that puts the flat section of bars, brake levers, ramps, and bar 
to brake transition angle that was greatly disrupted when attempting to mate 
Shimano 10s brifters with nitto noodle bars.  I switched to ritchey biomax bars 
with a short ramp to compensate for the shape of the levers. The campi and sram 
levers are easier to achieve the right balance with traditional shaped bars.
