Getting the right bag is a fun (and often expensive!) game. It's like purchasing multiple purses, one too big, one too small, fashionable, practical, waterproof, lightweight, not too expensive, but not cheap or poorly made.
It really boils down to how you will used it and there is no way to understand how you will use it because you don't have it yet. For me and the bag(s) I use, I take my best guess at what I want, then learn it's limitations. I spend time getting to know the bag, and becoming content with it and its downfalls. Over time, you become content and trust it. It's the element of trust that creates a bag that you keep. I have bags that have been on many brevets and tours. I trust them, they are in my closet. Whatever you get, whatever price, color, design, style, features, etc-learn how to use the bag and be ready to face the reality that it is not perfect and will not satisfy all of your criteria. Learn its limitations and figure out what it is good at. Use it a lot and earn it. It wants to be used, it wants to hold a burrito and it will try its best to keep a loaf of bread and your extra wool gloves dry. Sorry for the long post, I was inspired by a 25 month thread from JP Weigle.<http://www.flickr.com/photos/49353569@N00/5596271295/> -Ely On Sunday, April 21, 2013 4:35:29 PM UTC-7, Kelly wrote: > > I just started using the Large Arkel handlebar bag.
