I made my gearing set up simple.....36x39 chain rings and a 16-19 tooth White Industries freewheel. I get the same exact position in the dropout and a 51 and 66 inch gear with another gear somewhere in the middle. I plan on a 22 tooth for the flip side when its worth flipping the wheel for a long climb. Otherwise I walk uphill or coast downhill. I place my axle about midway in the dropout.
