Like the Quickbeam, the Simpleone is designed with dropouts that will manage a difference of 8 teeth. 40/19 to 32/16 is 11 teeth, so you can't get all four ratios from that set-up. In practice, I rarely "shift" my QB. I've thought of making it one chainring/one cog, but knowing that I have the ability to shift lower if I get too tired on a long ride is reassuring.
